Young & Restless star Christel Khalil announced she was expecting her second child with a fun montage from Monaco back in June and now, as she nears her due date, has revealed the gender of the wee one.

Khalil and her fiance, Sam Restagno, along with her son from a previous relationship, 13-year-old Michael Caden, will welcome a newborn into the family very soon if the new baby bump photos are anything to go by.

While we were already treated to a fun video from Khalil’s baby shower, we didn’t yet know if she and Restagno would be having a boy or a girl, so the latest reveal was one fans were eagerly looking forward to seeing.

Onscreen, Khalil’s character Lily has unexpectedly found herself in what appears to be a developing love triangle, what with her partner Daniel’s (Michael Graziadei) ex Heather (Vail Bloom) deciding to return to Genoa City permanently.

While Lily and Daniel are on solid footing romantically speaking at the moment, there have already been a few tense moments as Lily assesses the potential for trouble on the horizon. Most recently, Lily showed up to Daniel’s new apartment for what was supposed to be a fun couple-y experience — helping him settle on a decorating scheme with interior designer Sally (Courtney Hope) — only to find Heather and Daniel’s daughter Lucy (Lily Brooks O’Briant) already on the scene.

Daniel romanced Lily after the change in plans, but viewers got the sense that the writing is on the wall. Lucy wants to stay with Daniel until she and Heather find a permanent place to live, so it’s bound to change the entire dynamic, and Heather is sure to be around on a regular basis given that she’s been a mother to Lucy since she was tiny (the teen’s birth mother is Daisy Carter).

While we don’t know what’s in the cards for Daniel and Lily, it goes without saying that Khalil will be written off for at least a little while to accomodate her maternity leave, which has us wondering if Lily will decide to leave town to visit her own children, Charlie and Mattie, who are now young adults. You know, remove herself from a difficult situation to give herself time to think. Of course, this would be a questionable move given that it might open a door for Heather, but that’s what one expects on a soap.

Getting back to the gender reveal post, Young & Restless cast members were quick to react to the new photos, with Beth Maitland (Traci) perhaps alluding to the due date as she exclaimed, “Now that’s Thanksgiving!”

Also dropping in with love were Judah Mackey (Conner), Eileen Davidson (Ashley), who enthused, “Gorgeousness!”, and Lexi Stevenson, who played Khalil’s onscreen daughter Mattie before the character left town.

Other Young & Restless cast who sent love Khalil’s way included Kate Linder (Esther), Brytni Sarpy (Elena), Lauralee Bell (Christine), Courtney Hope (Sally), Melissa Ordway (Abby), Stacey Haiduk (ex-Patty), and Tracey Bregman (Lauren), who gushed, “So beautiful!”
