The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will need a new COO after firing Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic). Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) has been working as Nate’s assistant, but he’s more than qualified to take over the COO spot if Victor’s willing to give it to him.

Of course, there are understandable trust issues that could leave Victor with reservations. Adam agreed to start at the bottom and work his way up, but Victor has always been concerned about his son’s ulterior motives.

During a recent conversation with Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope), Adam admitted that he was indeed out for revenge when he returned to Newman Enterprises.

That changed when Adam thought Victor was genuinely struggling with mental deterioration, but that was just a ruse to catch the traitor.

Since Victor determined Nate was that traitor in the November 7 episode and fired him, that could open the door for Adam to replace him as COO.

After everything that’s happened, Adam might resolve to genuinely keep working his way up at Newman and leave any vengeful plans he had in the past.

However, there could be a problem since Victor has repeatedly pushed Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) to come back to Newman Enterprises where he belongs.

Now that Nick’s old spot is vacant, Victor might give him the opportunity to reclaim the COO position first.

Y&R spoilers say Nick will find himself at a fork in the road on November 9, so that’ll involve a big decision about his future.

Will Nick finally cave in and come back to Newman – mostly to steal Adam’s chance at the COO seat? That’s certainly an option to consider based on Nick’s usual behavior when it comes to Adam!

On the other hand, Nick’s been pretty adamant about working with Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) and leaving all the Newman corporate chaos behind.

If Nick sticks to that plan and refuses to come back to Newman Enterprises, then Adam might get the COO spot after all.

Naturally, it’s possible Victor could promote a wildcard like Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) instead, but it seems likely Adam will pitch himself as the best person for the job and hope Victor sees things his way in the end.
