Days of Our Lives Recap: Friday, December 22 – Stephanie Rescues Chad – Everett’s Invitation – Tate’s Best Gift Ever

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Friday, December 22, reveals that Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein) helped Everett Lynch (Blake Berris) work on an article in the town square before they discussed their plans for the rest of the evening.

Stephanie wanted to curl up alone and watch Elf on this Christmas Eve. Everett admitted he was invited to a holiday thing, but he suggested probably wouldn’t go.

At the Horton house on Friday’s Days episode, Thomas DiMera (temporarily played by Henry Witcher) and Charlotte DiMera (Autumn Gendron) didn’t seem all that enthusiastic about Christmas.

Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) and Doug Williams (Bill Hayes) were disappointed about that since they hoped the kids would have a better holiday this year.

Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) confessed that Charlotte and Thomas were still missing Abigail DiMera (Marci Miller), but now they also had to miss Stephanie.

Due to how everything went down, the kids didn’t even get a chance to say goodbye.

Julie decided that simply would not do, so she pushed Chad to make things right immediately.

Afterward on Friday’s DOOL show, Chad called Stephanie and asked if she’d do him a really big favor.

Stephanie picked up some gifts and came right over to the Horton house, so Chad thanked her.

Chad and Stephanie both realized they’d been negligent in how they handled their breakup with the children, so they took responsibility for that.

Once Stephanie and Chad talked to Charlotte and Thomas off-screen, Stephanie delighted them with their gifts and promised they’d always set aside a day to celebrate Christmas together.

Everett also showed up, so it was revealed that Doug ran into him in the town square earlier and invited him.

That made things awkward, but Chad played nice and even shook Everett’s hand as he wished him happy holidays.

Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) brought Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) to the Horton gathering on Friday’s Days episode, so Julie didn’t seem thrilled over that news.

Julie had concerns once she met Konstantin Meleounis (John Kapelos) as well since Doug saw a flicker of something bad in his eyes.

Sarah expressed surprise to Maggie Kiriakis (Suzanne Rogers) since she wasn’t expecting her mom to bring Konstantin, but she acted like she was fine with it.

When it was time for the tree trimming, Julie talked about some ornaments that were “down cellar” and had been pulled from the tree for various reasons.

Xander seemed concerned about that, but Sarah assured him that he’d always be connected to the Hortons through her as well as Victoria Horton-Cook.

That meant Xander’s ornament would never be “down cellar.”

Once the party broke up, Sarah seemed distraught over having to watch Xander take the baby off for his turn with her. it was obvious that all the switching was getting increasingly difficult.

Chad apologized to Stephanie for getting involved with her before he was ready to move on from Abigail, but she knew he didn’t do it on purpose.

When Everett offered to walk Stephanie home, she accepted in front of Chad.

Maggie also dropped Konstantin off in front of the Salem Inn and gave him a kiss on the cheek.

Back with Doug and Julie, they did some reminiscing as they gazed at the decorated tree and reflected on the family legacy.

At John Black (Drake Hogestyn) and Marlena Evans’ (Deidre Hall) penthouse, Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) and Theresa Donovan (Emily O’Brien) argued in front of Tate Black (Jamie Martin Mann) until he just couldn’t take it anymore.

Tate insisted that both his parents were jerks, so Theresa and Brady vowed to prove they could get along by celebrating Christmas Eve with Tate as a family.

As Tate, Brady and Theresa ate Chinese takeout together, they laughed over some memories of Theresa spilling butterbeer everywhere during a Universal Studios trip.

When Brady asked about Holly Jonas (Ashley Puzemis), Tate admitted that was a bust and suggested she just wasn’t that into him.

It was a bummer since Tate already bought Holly a gift, which he threw in the trash moments later.

Theresa dug it out and urged Tate to just give it to the next girl since she was sure her son was a catch.

As for whether Tate would return to boarding school, Brady and Theresa left the decision in his hands. Tate wanted to stay in town and go to Salem High, so that was settled.

After Tate opened one of Theresa’s gifts and gushed over it, Brady joked around about a compliment from Tate being a Christmas miracle.

However, Tate felt the real Christmas miracle was having a nice night with his mom and dad.

Days of Our Lives spoilers say Theresa and Brady will find other ways to grow closer soon, so stay tuned for updates on the tricky road ahead.
