Days of Our Lives Recap: Friday, August 24 – Sloan’s Cover-Up – Rex & Philip Back in Salem – Nicole Comforts Eric

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Friday, August 24, reveals that Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) approached Eric Brady (temporarily played by Jason Gerhardt) and got confirmation that Sloan Petersen (Jessica Serfaty) lost the baby. Nicole was so sorry, but she urged Eric not to give up hope when it came to being a father.

When Nicole put her hand on Eric’s chest, he noticed her engagement ring. Nicole admitted EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) was off getting the marriage license, so the wedding was set to happen soon.

If Eric ever needed to talk to someone who understood what he was going through with the miscarriage, Nicole said he knew where to find her.

Eric appreciated that as they shared a tender moment.

In Sloan’s hospital room, Melinda Trask (Tina Huang) convinced her that Eric wouldn’t forgive her for deceiving him about the paternity of Nicole’s baby.

A clean slate wasn’t going to happen, so Melinda promised to keep the secret and felt Sloan should do the same.

Sloan didn’t know what to tell Eric since she started a confession earlier, so Melinda had the perfect excuse for her to give him on Friday’s Days episode.

When Eric returned later, he mentioned that Nicole offered her condolences.

Sloan also lied that something felt off earlier and she ignored it instead of going to her doctor, so she claimed that’s what she was going to tell Eric.

Although Sloan acted like maybe she could’ve saved their baby if she’d handled things differently, Eric assured her that there was nothing she could’ve done to prevent what happened.

As for Nicole, she confronted Melinda about making EJ think there was some reason he shouldn’t marry her.

Melinda apologized, acted like she was just messing with EJ and wished them the best.

When Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin) returned home, she admitted she had something to tell Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) that could affect their future.

Chloe mentioned running into Henderson at the grocery store and learning that Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) was pregnant.

Xander didn’t express surprise, so Chloe was baffled by his reaction. However, Xander explained that he was shocked yesterday when Sarah told him at the Kiriakis mansion.

Chloe became angry over Xander not telling her that Sarah was having his baby.

Xander pointed out that Sarah claimed the baby was Rex Brady’s (Kyle Lowder) instead – and he didn’t think she’d lie that something like that.

Chloe was skeptical at first on Friday’s Days episode, but then Xander mentioned that Sarah slept with Rex before she left Salem.

Once Xander assured Chloe that she was the only woman he wanted to be with, they had an engagement lunch.

Chloe wasn’t thrilled about the haggis, but Xander felt she had plenty of time to acquire a taste for it now that she was going to be his wife.

At the pub, Kate Roberts Brady (Lauren Koslow) brought in some baby shower supplies after a chat with Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall).

Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) told Kate there wasn’t going to be a shower since Sloan lost the baby.

Kate was sorry about that before talk turned to Philip Kiriakis (John-Paul Lavoisier), who wanted to come back to Salem for Victor Kiriakis’ (John Aniston) funeral.

Although Kate tried to talk Philip out of coming back and potentially landing in prison, she was unsure about what he’d do.

Roman started to head for the hospital, but he returned to let Kate know her son was outside. Kate assumed it was Philip, but she smiled when Rex entered instead.

Back at Chloe’s door, she opened it and went wide-eyed as she blurted out Philip’s name! An offscreen Philip was clearly standing there as Chloe tried to process the news of his survival.

At the Kiriakis mansion on Friday’s DOOL show, Sarah found Maggie Kiriakis (Suzanne Rogers) and admitted she lied to Xander when she saw him last night.

Maggie didn’t support Sarah’s engagement to Rex and didn’t think it was right for her to keep Xander in the dark on his child.

Furthermore, Maggie suggested Sarah wasn’t considering what it’d be like to lie to her child – not to mention the truth could come out another way and blow up in her face.

Since Maggie just lost the love of her life, she didn’t want to see Sarah lose hers as well.

When Maggie asked if Sarah loved Rex in the same way she loved Xander, Sarah acted like she could learn to in time.

Sarah declared that she’d be a happy family with Rex, who’d be good to her and the baby. Meanwhile, Xander could find happiness with Chloe or anyone else he wanted.

Maggie guessed Sarah’s mind was made up and seemed ready to drop the issue. Once Xander texted hoping that he could come over and comfort Maggie, she gave Sarah the heads-up.

Sarah made herself scarce before Xander visited Maggie and offered support as she continued to mourn for Victor.

Once Sarah returned on Friday’s Days episode, she asked to speak with Xander alone and left him curious about what she wanted to tell him.

Days of Our Lives spoilers say some surprises are still to come in Salem, so stay tuned for updates on all the chaos.
