Return Of The Daytime Hunk

The 1980s was the height of popularity for daytime soap operas. Super couples, outlandish storylines (Ice Princess, anyone?) and glitzy location shoots were the norm. One thing that was also common was the daytime hunk.

From Drake Hogestyn (John Black, DOOL) to Tristan Rogers (Robert ScorpioGeneral Hospital,) daytime had no shortage of beefcakes. Both actor are still smoking hot in their golden years.

Daytime is still full of hunky actors, and several Days of Our Lives stars are here to prove it.

The leading men of Days of Our Lives are turning up the heat with a sizzling shirtless photo shoot for Playgirl magazine. These hunky actors are known for their smoldering looks and riveting performances, and this photo shoot is set to send fans into a frenzy.

The magazine features hunks of DOOL in nearly all their glory, giving viewers a tantalizing glimpse into the lives of these heartthrobs both on and off the screen. Paul Telfer (Xander Cook), Robert Scott Wilson (Ben Watson), Eric Martsolf (Brady Black), Christopher Sean (Paul Narita,) and Bryan Dattilo (Lucas Horton) stripped down to their undies in a series of too-hot-to-handle snapshots.

From bronzed bodies to chiseled features, these photos set the internet ablaze. But these men are more than just their abs. The Playgirl feature also includes interviews with each of the leading men of daytime.

Days of Our Lives fans were beside themselves after seeing the lusty photos on social media. Check out some of the best comments:

  • Whoa, what a nice jumpstart to my otherwise boring day!
  • Bryan Dattilo more than holding his own after more than 30 years is incredible
  • They all can get it
  • They said something would happen with the eclipse and look what appeared this morning. Thank you.
  • Let me pick myself up off the floor first!
  • where can I get a copy?

Good question! The photos are easily found on social media platforms, but how do fans get their hands on a copy of the magazine? Playgirl is available at select newsstands in the country.

The steamy photos make one thing clear: the DOOL hunks are not afraid to bare it all for their dedicated fans.

Get ready for a whole lot of skin because Playgirl‘s Days of Our Lives edition is officially out! It wasn’t that long ago that we wouldn’t have dreamed of ever seeing a soap hunk in Playgirl again. Back in the ’80s and even ’90s, soap stars would cross over to bare (almost) all from time to time, but when the magazine went silent for a bit, we thought that era was over. (Though thanks to the wonders of the internet, you can check out a few of the daytime hunks of yore who made an appearance over on Playgirl‘s official site.)

But now, Playgirl is back and we discovered the soap hunk connection was stronger than ever, when the magazine announced it was doing something special with the guys of Days of Our Lives. Well, the wait is over and the Playgirl issue is out — and it’s all easily accessible online!

For those who don’t want to see the fellas in his skivvies, avert your eyes and skip on down past it.

Yes, the guys do bare themselves quite literally, but they also share quite a bit about thirsty fans, soap hunks, being a part of Days of Our Lives‘ incredible legacy and respecting the genre that’s given them so much.

When asked about daytime TV being a part of their career trajectory, the fellas also stood up for the genre we all know and love.

“I feel acting in a soap opera isn’t part of a path or ‘trajectory’,” Martsolf explained to Playgirl, “it’s the goal itself.” And as Dattilo explained, “Being on a soap opera is my career trajectory, it’s all I ever wanted to be. For me it’s not a stepping stone; it’s a career.”

Of respect for the actors is just as important — if not more so on a personal level — as the genre! We all love a handsome guy in a towel. And, as Telfer put it, “I can be casually having a conversation with my [TV] mother-in-law or doing business… with my shirt off.”

But while the thirst may be real, boundaries are very important! As Sean noted when asked by Playgirl how it feels to being objectified, being a “soap hunk” can be tricky to navigate sometimes. “People feel they can do or say what they want to you because you are their fantasy person,” he admitted.

“I love the passion of our fans,” Wilson added, “but even I have a boundary. Suppose it comes with the territory, but grateful for it all.”

And more importantly, they note, being a soap hunk these days requires far more than just looking good. There’s reams of dialogue to memorize, an unbelievable amount of scenes to shoot and a whole lot of emotion that’s got to go into it all! Check out Playgirl for the full interview with the guys, along with a slew of photos sure to give you hot flashes.
