The Woman Who Will Drive Finn’s Next Chapter
Finn’s world has been building to a crisis point since he embraced Sheila at the courthouse. The result? The Bold & Beautiful doctor has now been left all alone without his beloved family. Who will step in to drive his next chapter with Steffy gone? You might be surprised…
Going back to even before Finn held Sheila in his arms after she was set free by the judge, we could see trouble brewing from the time he visited her (reluctantly) in jail. As her preferred physician, Finn showed up to give his birth mother her pre-trial examination and was shockingly drawn in by her. When she managed to pull him into an embrace, his vulnerability to her emerged anew as he told her that the hug felt like something that had been missing his entire life. Considering Sheila had shot him and Steffy and left them for dead in an alley, this was concerning — especially for fans of the “Sinn” pairing.
Thanks to a little help from Liam, it was only a matter of time before Steffy learned that Finn had held the woman in his arms and reacted. At first, she gave her husband the benefit of the doubt, but when Sheila turned up in their lives again and saved Kelly’s life, it became clear that Finn’s connection to his birth mother was going to present a major issue for the couple.
Unwilling to cut Sheila some slack as Finn suggested, Steffy packed her bags and those of the kids and moved into her grandfather’s estate. After repeated pleas from Finn (and multiple passes made at her by Liam), Steffy finally decided to return to her husband’s side and allow him to prove he could protect her and their children from his birth mother — only to catch the madwoman peering into the house and watching them as they embarked on an intimate reunion. So creepy.
Never one to back down despite her terror when it comes to Sheila, Steffy wound up in a confrontation with her nine-toed mother-in-law and we all know how that ended — with Steffy renouncing her decision to reunite with Finn and deciding to up-sticks and head out of the country.
Thanks to a Fall preview from headwriter Brad Bell in SOD, we know that this will leave Finn at loose ends and focusing heavily on work as a means of dealing with his unfortunate new circumstances.
But he’ll also be determined to win back his wife — which means getting rid of Sheila. It’s the only way. At least that’s what the woman who drives his next chapter will tell him.
That woman? His adoptive mother, Li Finnegan.
An intelligent woman, doctor, and another of Sheila’s victims, expect Li to campaign for Finn to eliminate Sheila from their lives before making the trek overseas to try and win back his love and put his family back together.
We suspect he’ll take her advice, but will Finn be up to the task? Either he’ll be in over his head or Sheila will discover he’s a chip off the old block and she’s met her match. Time will tell!
