As Young & Restless Appears to Throw Sharon Under A Bus Driven By Summer, Fans Cry Foul
While all those in Chance’s life have been begging him to wake up, the recently-shot cop may want to remain unconscious for a while in order to avoid the battle royale unfolding between Young & Restless fans. On one side, those who’ve been rooting for long-suffering heroine Sharon to catch a break. On the other, viewers who’ve picked up on the sparks flying between the hospitalized patient and Summer.

“Good grief,” tweeted Michelle Paden upon learning that Summer had rushed to Chance’s side to express her feelings. “Sharon loses yet again. Shocker!”

For those supporting a Chance/Sharon relationship, Summer’s actions were inexcusable. “Summer ran to a man she wasn’t called to (the hospital called Nina and then Sharon was called),” tweeted Miss Jennipher Unlimited. “Just like her aunt Victoria, running all over town for a man who didn’t call her there. These Newman women have no scruples about them at all!”
Others, however, suggested that Sharon has no hold on Chance, given that they’ve made no serious commitments to one another. “They had sex once and went on a few dates,” pointed out Lakresha Gilyard. “They aren’t married, and Sharon said they were having fun.”
While many viewers assume that the writers are preparing for a full-blown Summer/Chance/Sharon triangle, some — such as Lene — weren’t particularly invested in either woman winning the hunk.”Summer and Chance had good build up until August,” she tweeted. “Since then, they’ve only had three scenes. Sharon and Chance isn’t any better. She doesn’t seem that into him. At least not enough to ‘fight’ Summer for him. So why, exactly, is this a love triangle?”
At least one of the parties involved says that it’s not a triangle… at least not yet. “Summer and Chance have gotten closer,” concedes her portrayer, Allison Lanier. “But she’s not entirely sure how she feels at this point. Certainly seeing him so vulnerable has stirred things up within her… more than she probably would have imagined!”
But only time will tell whether Sharon and Summer wind up butting heads over Chance. After all, the literal middle man here might have something to say about the matter!
