In spite of Nick being married or involved with others several times and Sharon the same, they were high school sweethearts-Sharon, however had twins that were separated before they met.
Still, there is that saying that one never really gets over their first love, and Sharon was Nick’s. That’s what is concerning Sally, and there is a parental bond that he has with both Sharon and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) Summer Newman-Abbott’s (Allison Lanier) mother.
But even though Sally is bothered by Nick’s bond, she’s been trying to fight off and is denying one of her own-with Adam.

That Adam still loves Sally is obvious, in spite of his stupid move when he dumped her for no fathomable reason, at least to her.
He felt his obsessiveness sneaking up inside him, the obsessive manipulation he is so prone to which seems fueled by fear of rejection by his father.
He was afraid she would dump him, and he beat her to the punch and dumped her first-finding out it wasn’t any easier on either of them-and made everything worse.
Adam felt terrible recently when Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) baited Sally with a job, which caused her to leave the one she had and then the job was fake!
Adam reached out to offer her a job, like he had when the original Newman Media went down – again, thanks to Victor but she turned it down.
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – She Found Connor Newman In Distress Twice And Calmed Him
Sally would definitely make a good stepmother for Adam’s son Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) who she’d found by himself in distress twice and calmed him.
Connor likes Sally, and the most recent time she found him he was in the process of running away from home-he could relate to her stories from her childhood.
Sally is so good with Connor and he likes her a lot-he felt bad about losing his baby sister, but you can never say never.
That’s another bond that Sally and Adam have together to a child even though Connor isn’t hers.
Sally, whether she’s still pushing down feelings for Adam or just denying them, may very well reconcile with him if she feels she’s losing Nick to Sharon.
