Stefan and Gabi Target In Their Plan Against Kristen, While Tate Makes Brady a Mutually Beneficial Offer

Kristen and Rachel return to the mansion with shopping bags. Holly stomps in to accuse Rachel of using all of her shampoo. It’s Taylor Swift’s brand and super expensive, and now it’s practically gone. The soon-to-be-step-cousins trade barbs, until Kristen sends Rachel to do homework. She then offers Holly a job.

At the Pub, a sullen Tate learns from Roman and Brady that he’s the new dishwasher. Happy to have him there, Roman leaves to call Tate’s Grandma Kimberly with the good news. As father and son bicker, Tate gets snarky about Brady’s renewed interest in parenting after two years of barely seeing him. He accuses Brady of focusing on him because he doesn’t have Rachel anymore.

In the hospital lobby, an anxious Rafe asks Kayla to sign Dimitri’s release form so he can take him to the city jail. Kayla explains that the doctor who evaluated Dimitri is the only one who can sign the letter, and he’s gone for the day. Considering the hospital’s weak security, Jada implores her to prevent Dimitri from slipping away. After finding Dimitri’s file, Kayla agrees to examine him.

In his hospital room, Dimitri asks Leo how he’s going to bust him out of there. Leo wonders why it’s all on him. Plus, what does he know about busting someone out of a hospital? Dimitri calls him clever, resourceful, and brilliant. It’s up to him to make sure they have a happy ending. Leo knows that now is his moment to go where the brave dare not go. “So I ask myself, what would Lucy and Ethel do?”

At the Pub, Brady apologizes for not seeing Tate more when he was in California. But he’s not trying to replace Rachel with him. He loves him, which is why he’s trying to instill responsibility in him. Tate begrudgingly relents, and then offers to reach out to Rachel on his behalf. Get her to admit she misses him. Brady asks what’s in it for him. After feigning offense, Tate eventually admits he needs a reason to go to the DiMera mansion. Holly’s furious with him for telling her mom her secret. So, he’ll help Brady with Rachel, if he’ll help him with Holly.

At the mansion, Kristen offers to hire Holly as Rachel’s math tutor. She’ll make it worth her while so she can buy all the shampoo she wants. Holly scoffs. She’ll be able to buy whatever she wants once her mom marries EJ. However, she’ll do it if Kristen helps her score points with, Johnny, the boy she loves. Kristen points out he’s not a boy. Plus, he’s about to become Holly’s stepbrother. Holly counters that Kristen married her brother. Kristen fires back that they aren’t blood-related. Neither are Holly and Johnny, the teen says. Kristen assumes the love affair is one-sided. Holly knows he’d be interested, but he’s distracted by Chanel. But Chanel isn’t her only problem. Her mom almost found out, thanks to the jerk, Tate Black. He waltzes in. “But, tell me how you really feel,” he says.

In his hospital room, Dimitri shoots down Leo’s escape ideas, which include lubing his hand out of his handcuff and calling David Copperfield (the magician, not the literary character). Leo finally offers to try and pick the lock with a paperclip. As he works on the handcuff, Kayla enters and throws Leo out. She sits next to Dimitri, who frees his hand from the handcuff and grabs her.

In the hospital lobby, Leo overhears Rafe telling Jada that a nurse is on the way from the 5th floor with a wheelchair for Dimitri. Leo dashes away.

At the Pub, Kate joins Roman and Brady with news that Dimitri is close to being locked up. Later, as they discuss Tate, Kate jokes that she can’t relate to having unruly kids. Hers were absolute angels. Brady knows he’s not the first parent to deal with an angry kid, but he can’t believe the boy who thought he hung the moon is now his worst critic. The worst part is he agreed with most of what he said. Kate assures him all parents make mistakes, but you just have to move on. Brady shares that Tate is at the DiMeras helping him with his custody arrangement. Roman chuckles. “May God go with him.”

At the mansion, Kristen embraces Tate, calling him Christopher. Tate corrects her. She says he will always be Christopher to her. She goes to get Rachel for him, as Holly yells at Tate for being there. Tate apologizes for telling her mom about her crush. He asks who she’s in love with anyway. She tells him it’s Johnny. After noting he’s too old for her, Tate says Holly is the only friend he has in Salem, and he’d like to start over.

In their room, Gabi shouts that bribing a judge is as illegal as kidnapping. She realizes they need Rachel to be in trouble, which Kristen can be blamed for. Then, they threaten to go to Brady with proof she’s a bad mom unless she signs over her shares. They assume Brady will help orchestrate it. However, Stefan notes their plan will end in them stabbing him in the back because Kristen will insist they destroy the evidence. So… think of another plan? Stefan queries. What do you think? Gabi asks.

Growing impatient waiting for the nurse with the wheelchair, Rafe and Jada head toward Dimitri’s room. In said room, Dimitri has Kayla handcuffed to the bed. Leo enters with a wheelchair while wearing a blond wig and scrubs. “Nurse Leona, at your service.”

After Holly agrees to be friends, just friends, with Tate at the mansion, Kristen returns. She can’t find Rachel, who eats ice cream with Stefan in his room. He wants to play 20 questions again, but this time, she asks him the questions. He has a secret, and it’s a good one.

Gabi stops by John and Marlena’s to ask Brady, “How’d you like to get your daughter back?”

As Rafe and Jada find Kayla handcuffed to the hospital bed, Nurse Leona wheels Dimitri to the elevator.
