Nicole meets with EJ in the mansion before going to the lake for a walk. Now that their baby is at peace, she is too. Outside, Nicole pauses at the tree where they previously spread what they assumed were their baby’s ashes.

Jude’s crying awakens a fully dressed Eric and Sloan, who lie haphazardly in bed. Sloan gets up to take Jude for a walk as Eric rolls over to go back to sleep.

A kid throws a ball at Leo as he sleeps on the park bench. He awakens to stew over Sloan and plot his vengeance.

Pushing Jude’s stroller in the Square while holding a coffee cup, Sloan answers a call from Leo. He yells at her about Dimitri getting sent to Supermax and threatens to expose her baby snatching if she doesn’t get him everything he requested — money and power. After hanging up, Sloan drops her coffee and then realizes she left her wallet in Sweet Bits. As she leaves Jude to run back inside the bakery, gloved hands push the stroller away. Sloan returns, yelling for help.

A horrified-looking Stephanie wakes up in Harris’ bed as he gets an alert about a baby abduction. Already fully dressed, he says they can talk later. He has to get to the station.

At home, Eric wakes up to Sloan’s frantic call about Jude. She cries that she left him for two seconds. “Someone stole our baby boy.”

As Marlena and Roman marvel in the Pub over how happy Eric is with their new grandchild, and even with Sloan, Eric calls about Jude.

At the DiMera mansion, EJ’s phone blares with a missing baby alert. Later, he leaves a message for Nicole, who’s been gone for a while. He playfully says he’s getting worried, but his smile drops when he hangs up.

As Sloan tells Rafe what happened, Eric races to the Square. Harris joins them to report no one saw anything. He asks if Sloan has any idea who would have done this. A look of realization washes over her, but she says she doesn’t. Eric pulls Rafe aside to suggest it could have been Nicole. Rafe heads for the DiMera mansion.

Leo enters the Pub in time to see Stephanie sneak downstairs and into the kitchen. “Why would Stephanie Johnson spend the night at the Brady Pub?” he asks with his hand on a stroller.

Stephanie runs into Tripp in the park. She confesses she did something really stupid last night, but it’s kinda fuzzy, so she shouldn’t get into it. She also has a wicked hangover. He brings up her moving back in with Steve and Kayla. She tells her brother about Chad firing Everett and that he’s still grieving Abigail. Also, Everett was going to propose before his accident. Tripp asks if she’ll reunite with Everett or is she hoping to work things out with Chad?

Rafe comes to the DiMera mansion and tells EJ about Jude’s kidnapping. When he asks about Nicole, who’s still out, EJ becomes outraged. He shouts that she had nothing to do with this so Rafe should find the actual culprit and leave them the hell alone!

At the station, Sloan cries to Marlena, Roman, and Eric about leaving her baby alone. Marlena assures her no one is blaming her. As Harris questions the weepy mother, Leo rolls the stroller into the squad room. He found it in the alley with no baby inside. He pointedly tells Sloan he wishes he had found the baby because, as his lawyer, he owes her everything. Harris says he’ll have the stroller dusted for prints, and Leo exchanges a look with Sloan before leaving. Sloan tells Eric she’s going to freshen up.

In the interrogation room, Sloan accuses Leo of kidnapping Jude. Leo retorts that if she truly cared about the baby and really thought he had him, she would have shared her suspicions with the police. Oh, but then everyone would know the truth. But maybe he does know where the baby is. Sloan demands he tell her. When he balks, she desperately asks what he wants. Well, a place to live would be nice. A job, a boyfriend, a savings account. He doesn’t have any of those things. All he has is her dirty little secret, which he can blow out of the water whenever he chooses. “The clock is ticking Sloanykins,” he taunts before storming away.

Back at the mansion, Rafe assures EJ he’s not accusing Nicole of anything, he just needs to talk to her. EJ checks his phone locator app, which says the phone is still in the house. Rafe notes her car is in the driveway, which confuses EJ. Nicole would have needed it to drive to the lake. Rafe points out the lake is adjacent to the Square. EJ repeats that Nicole didn’t kidnap the baby, but wonders why she left her phone behind and where she disappeared to.

After failing to find her, EJ muses to Rafe that someone took Nicole to get to him. Rafe will have Wendy try to geolocate her and leaves. As EJ wonders where Nicole could be, his gaze wanders to the secret door. “Oh my God,” he groans. “Is it possible?”

In the park, Stephanie talks about being worried for the kids, and how she stayed with Chad despite Everett returning because she loves him. Tripp asks if she’s talked to Chad after everything that went down. She recounts how Chad overreacted upon seeing her with Alex, and then flashes to drunkeningly kissing Harris. She keeps that part quiet though. Tripp advises she hear Chad out and not throw their relationship away so easily. When he leaves for work, Stephanie calls Everett to grab coffee.

In the DiMera tunnels, EJ calls out for Nicole, while in the interrogation room, Sloan assumes Leo took the baby to blackmail her. She decides she has to tell the truth. Sloan finds Eric in the squad room. There’s something she has to tell him. At the mansion, EJ opens the wine room door to find Nicole holding the baby. “I’m sorry EJ,” she says. “I’m so sorry.” He embraces her.
