Nicole Demands the Truth From EJ About Ava, While Jada Confronts Talia About Sleeping With Shawn

In his office, EJ tells someone over the phone to calm down. As long as he’s representing them, they are both safe. He hangs up when Nicole arrives. He needs her to research an acquisition that could boost DiMera Enterprises’s profits. Nicole will get right on that as soon as he tells her if he tried to have Ava killed. EJ denies it, but Nicole assumes that’s why he’s defending the woman Ava shot.

In a London hotel room, Harris tries to assuage Ava’s fears about being tracked down and not finding Susan. What if they made a huge mistake? All they’re going on is her woo-woo visions of Susan. Harris has a good feeling this will all work out. Calming down, Ava says Susan better pay her another visit soon, before her baby boy finishes the job.

At the station, Rafe sends an overworked Jada home. He’ll track down the witness she found regarding Ava.

At the hospital, Tripp can’t thank Wendy enough for making fake passports for his mother — especially since she doesn’t even know Ava. Wendy knows her son, and that’s enough. Her next step is to fish around the office to find something useful on EJ. Over Tripp’s protests, she leaves. Tripp gets a call from Rafe, summoning him to the station.

At the Pub, Eric asks Belle to help him and Sloan through the adoption process. Of course, Belle will help, but she’s distracted because Shawn didn’t come home last night. She confides in her brother about the fight they had about his drinking and her affair with EJ.

Upstairs, a wincing Shawn grabs his head as he wakes up in bed next to Talia. “Oh, God,” he says. Talia freaks out when she wakes up. He checks his phone to see missed texts from Belle. He can’t believe he shared his marital troubles with Talia last night and that he cheated on his wife. Talia urges him to give himself a break, but he feels like he lost control and took advantage of her. Talia tells him to stop apologizing because she lost control, too. Besides, she’s the one who should feel extra terrible since she owes his wife so much. But Shawn points out he’s her husband. How is he going to tell her?

At DiMera, EJ feigns innocence, but Nicole knows he’s lying. She assumes he’s defending the woman because she knows something he doesn’t want the cops to know. Since she’ll be giving birth to his baby in a few months, she deserves to know what that something is.

After they dress, Shawn asks Talia not to say anything until he can figure out what to tell Belle. She promises to keep quiet and wishes him luck. Her expression grows troubled as he leaves.

Downstairs in the Pub, Belle gets a notification that Shawn read all the texts she sent, so at least she knows he’s alive. But why isn’t he calling her back? Her eyes brim with tears as she wonders if Shawn hasn’t forgiven her affair with EJ. Maybe that’s why he’s drinking. Eric gives her advice on how to handle Shawn before she leaves to get some air. Once she’s out the door, Shawn strolls through. “Where the hell did you come from?” Eric queries.

Relenting, EJ insists to Nicole no one knows what he’s done. No one but his client, Nicole retorts. EJ is confident his client won’t sell him out as long as he keeps her safe. He wouldn’t risk what they have for anything. Wendy comes to the door, prompting Nicole to leave. Wendy shows EJ a lengthy report on a system upgrade. As he pages through it, she pretends to discover on her phone that Ava escaped Bayview. Her pointed comments about it only serve to annoy an otherwise unbothered EJ, who tries to read her report.

In the interrogation room, Rafe tells Tripp that Ava and Harris were seen in the alley behind his apartment building last night. Tripp admits they were in his apartment, but they left through the fire escape when it was clear he couldn’t help them. Rafe leaves him to think about the obstruction charges he could bring against him.

In London, Ava calls out to Susan to give her another sign. When she doesn’t receive one, Harris and Ava argue over their contrasting anxiety levels regarding the situation. Harris shouts that she’s a Vitali, “So act like one!” She heads to the bathroom in a huff.

Nicole runs into Belle in the square. After catching up about Nicole’s baby, Belle shares that Eric and Sloan are planning to adopt. Taken off guard, Nicole agrees that Eric will be a wonderful father.

At the Pub, Shawn tells Eric that Jada let him sleep it off at her place since both she and Talia were working night shifts. Talia hears them as she comes downstairs and darts to the kitchen. Eric urges Shawn to respond to Belle’s messages. Shawn starts texting, as Jada enters the front door saying how tired she is from work. Shawn makes a show of introducing himself to her, then leaves when Belle texts him back.

Jada returns to the station after finding something at Tripp’s apartment building. Later, she enters the Pub, where Eric brings up Shawn crashing at her place. She plays along and then heads upstairs to find Talia making the bed. “Tell me you didn’t sleep with Shawn Brady,” Jada sternly says to her sister.

Rafe returns to Tripp in the interrogation room. He tells him he could now be charged with aiding and abetting. He slides an envelope Jada gave him across the table. Tripp opens it to find loose pages from his and Wendy’s passports.

At DiMera, EJ asks Wendy to check his computer mouse and leaves for a meeting. Upon sitting at his desk, Wendy notices his phone. She tries to get past his locked screen as EJ returns. “May I help you?” he asks.

When Shawn meets Belle in the Square, he admits he’s hungover. She asks where he slept last night.

Wearing just a t-shirt, Ava emerges from the bathroom to find Harris in a black tank top and boxer briefs. She looks him over before locking eyes with him.
