In his office, Eric takes it all in and sits down behind the desk, fondling the stapler from Stephanie. He starts coughing and notices blood in his handkerchief.

RJ comes in and Eric gets up to enthuse, “We did it my boy! We beat Ridge!” They embrace and RJ forces a smile. Eric recaps that it was a great day and Ridge gave it the old college try. RJ flashes to Ridge saying he won and RJ telling his father that Eric is dying, after which Ridge told Eric he won. Eric says he has to commend Ridge for how graciously he handled defeat. RJ says, “He loves you, Granddad. He’d do anything for you.”

At the Forrester mansion, Ridge points his finger at Donna, “My dad is dying and you didn’t tell me.” Donna is sorry for not telling him and she’s sorry for what he’s going through. She wanted to tell him, she wanted to tell him and Brooke, but Eric didn’t want them to know. Ridge declares they need to find answers for his dad. He wants to talk to the doctor about treatment, “Not a death sentence!”

At the cliff house, Steffy hopes Sheila got the message. Finn recaps that she punched her in the face. Steffy wonders how Deacon can be so gullible. Just then, the kids come in with their manny, who lets himself out. Finn plays with the kids as Steffy looks on and laughs.

At Il Giardino, Bill and Liam meet up. Bill asks him what’s going on — he sounded pretty intense when he called. Liam tells his dad, “Steffy’s home.” Bill replies, “The woman you love is back. The question is, what are you going to do about it?” Liam is excited they’re home but it’s complicated because of Sheila — they’ll be staying with the psychopath’s son. Bill shakes his head.

At the cliff house, Hayes and Kelly compliment Finn on his food ordering. Kelly tells her mom, “Dad says hi by the way.” She talked to him earlier and can’t wait to see him. “It’s good to be home.” Steffy couldn’t agree more. After dinner, Finn sends the kids to their rooms to get ready for bed and tells Steffy how much he missed this. They embrace. He thanks her for coming home.

At Dr. Colby’s office, Ridge blusters about needing the best. Colby assures him that Eric’s well-being is his top priority. Introductions are made and Ridge demands to know how a vital man such as his father is suddenly on his death bed, “How does that happen?” Colby gets into medical jargon. Ridge doesn’t understand this stuff, he just wants to save his father. Colby says his peers all agree, “At this point, we’ve done all we can. I’m sorry. I wish it was better news.” He advises Ridge not to waste a minute with his dad, who is going to need him in his remaining days.

At Il Giardino, Liam rants to Bill that Finn’s not doing anything to protect Steffy and the kids from Sheila, instead, he’s calling her mom and embracing her. He didn’t even give her a heads up that Sheila and Deacon are hooking up! “I called her myself and lest her a message and I told her.” Bill states, “Because you love Steffy, Liam.” His dad assures him they all know that, “And don’t ever forget it.” Bill and Liam discuss how delicious Deacon’s pizza is — it’s his decision-making that’s problematic. Liam complains that him dating Sheila will keep her around and focusing on Finn’s family. He won’t let her hurt them. Liam tells his father that Steffy is his family too, and he can give her a better, safer, life than Finn can.

At the cliff house, Finn and Steffy have the kids in bed and they share a toast. He apologizes and swears he’ll never call Sheila ‘mom’ again. He’ll protect her and kids even though he knows she can protect herself. “I saw it firsthand the way you clocked Sheila.” Steffy won’t lie. Sheila is a risk and unpredictable, “But I don’t want to be away from you.” She will not let Sheila separate her from her family. “Make no mistake how much I missed you too.” They kiss passionately. Finn tells her he’s wanted this for so long. He’s not going to be away from her and kids again. Finn tells her how incredible and sexy she is, “You changed my life and there is no going back.” She proved how amazing she is again today by confronting Sheila. Steffy doesn’t want to hear the woman’s name anymore; she just wants to be in his arms. “I just want to be with you.” They kiss and start undressing. Finn picks her up and carries her into the bedroom.

Ridge, Brooke, and Donna join RJ and Eric in the office. The patriarch says he’ll get used to sharing the office again, but this is his chair and he’s not going anywhere. Eric goes on that he really needed to win this competition, “It was like my life depended on it, you know?” He talks about how much it means to be back in the office and shows RJ the stapler that Luna found. It was lost and forgotten, “Like me.” Brooke assures him he’ll never be forgotten. Ridge needs him, “I need my dad.”
