General Hospital’s Austin is in a tough place right now, navigating an increasingly tricky balancing act between Ava, Mason, Cyrus and now Nikolas. Of course, since Nikolas is just about fully recovered, we suppose Austin’s been walking this tightrope for some time now. It’s just that we only just learned of it!

On top of that, Kassie DePaiva’s bringing Blair back to General Hospital to pay a visit to one of her ex-husbands. It’s sadly, not Todd, seeing as how Roger Howarth no longer plays him, but we’re still crossing our fingers that the two One Life to Live vets cross paths in some way! Regardless, it’s a pretty exciting time to be a Howarth fan — and it just got even more so!

Austin Cyrus revealed GH

The General Hospital actor celebrated his birthday yesterday with a big move — onto Instagram! The show’s official X/Twitter account shared the news as they wished him a happy birthday, and Maura West had the perfect response:

“About damn time!” We wouldn’t have put it quite that way, but we can certainly appreciate the sentiment!

Howarth kicked off his Instagram account with a welcoming video that gave us a pretty good preview of what we can expect to look forward to from him! “My name is Roger Howard and I am joining Instagram and I am super excited,” he began. “And yeah, that’s it.” Except, it wasn’t it. Not by a longshot!

He went on to explain this was a birthday gift to himself, had some fun with spelling and invited folks to hang out. “Let’s you and me, hang out. You on your phone while you’re not sleeping, or on the toilet. Or watching streaming stuff with the subtitles on, but it’s still boring.”

After joking a bit more about folks’ phone habits, he stopped himself. “Oh my God. I’m alienating everybody already. Here’s the thing. I’m really excited about this.”

Austin and Ava alone

West, of course, didn’t just leave it with a crack about how her co-star was overdue on social media, but chimed in on his Instagram post with a, “Happy Birthday, Roger! I’m glad you were born!”

As are we all! Maybe we’ll even get peeks at what Austin’s up to and how much trouble he’s getting into. As Howarth put it as he signed off, “I think it’ll be really fun. Please stay tuned. I would love to make a bunch of mischief with you!”

Hey, staying tuned is what soap fans do best, so bring it on and welcome to Instagram!
