Maurice Benard Says No More Kids for Sonny – Done Adding Mob Boss Baby Mamas

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) loves all his children, but there’s no denying that his family tree is pretty messy at this point! Sonny has a lot of “baby mamas” and problematic kids to contend with, so Maurice Benard opened up about that and more in the newest issue of SOD.

For starters, Benard talked about Sonny’s relationship with Ava Jerome (Maura West) and the updates that’ve been made to it.

There was a time when Sonny treated Ava “like dirt,” but Benard is happier with the mutual respect that’s developed now.

Although managing all these different family angles can be difficult, Sonny always finds a way to make it work.

Benard reflected on Sonny’s children creating reasons for him to help Ava and the other mothers he’s connected to, but he’s not looking to add to Sonny’s brood!

“That’s the cool thing; whoever thought of Sonny having so many kids – even though I’m done with Sonny having kids! – it’s been the smartest thing because that’s the reason he has to help her,” Benard said.

Despite not knowing whether that was part of the thought process behind giving Sonny such a big family, Benard admitted it was a “good idea.”

Many GH viewers were glad to see Ava finally come clean to Sonny about her Nikolas Cassadine (last played by Adam Huss) dilemma and the blackmail threat she was facing from Mason Gatlin (Nathanyael Grey) along with his boss.

Sonny will continue to help Ava as this storyline heats up, but there’s obviously a revelation that neither one of them expects in the works.

Austin Gatlin-Holt (Roger Howarth) knows Nikolas survived and saved him that fateful night, so his deception has to come out eventually.

As for Maurice Benard’s take on the kid situation for Sonny, plenty of fans agree Sonny shouldn’t have any more of them!

Benard is over all the baby stories, so let’s hope the writers listen to him and let him focus on the family he already has.
