The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Summer Newman’s (Allison Lanier) feelings for Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) have already deepened due to his latest hospital ordeal, but they’re only going to grow stronger from here.

Now that Y&R’s created a love triangle that includes Summer, Chance and Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case), we have to look at the clues and figure out where this story’s going.

At this point, it certainly seems like the show’s favoring Summer’s side in all this. It feels like Sharon is already somewhat on the outside of Summer and Chance’s growing bond.

In Y&R’s November 10 episode, Christine Blair (Lauralee Bell) also suggested that Nina Webster (Tricia Cast) isn’t really rooting for Sharon and Chance as a couple due to Sharon’s problematic romantic history.

This could be a situation where Mother knows best!

The fact that Nina disapproves of Chance and Sharon’s relationship hints that maybe it’ll fall apart sooner or later.

Nina seemed quite touched over Summer showing up to support Chance at the hospital after he was wounded.

As Nina witnesses other close moments between Summer and Chance, she may see an opportunity to play matchmaker.

Once Chance is released from the hospital, it’d be easy for Nina to set up a scenario that gives Chance and Summer a little more alone time.

Nina might decide that Summer would be a far better match for Chance than Sharon is.

This could give Nina an opportunity to play Cupid and hope that she can shove Summer in Chance’s romantic direction.

Nina might also recruit Summer to help Chance choose a less dangerous career path since they both hate the peril he’s repeatedly landed in.

Chance is already considering the idea of doing something besides being a cop, so Nina might hope Summer can give him the final nudge to begin a less risky job.

Whatever the case, Summer could score some serious points with Chance’s mother, so maybe Nina will become their surprise matchmaker.

Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) is normally the one interfering and crossing lines when it comes to her children, but Nina may be the meddling mom this time around!
