Monday, August 28 – Wild Outbursts, Baby Surprises and False Alarm
Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Monday, August 28, reveals that Belle Black Brady (Martha Madison) tried to get Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) to go with Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) to an AA meeting, but Shawn wasn’t interested – especially since Brady’s life was still a mess.
After Shawn stomped off, Brady reminded Belle that Shawn had to want help in order for it to work.
Talk eventually turned to Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) only wanting to marry Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin) because Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) had moved on.
Philip Kiriakis’ (John-Paul Lavoisier) name also came up during the conversation, so Belle admitted she hadn’t really accepted that he was deceased. However, Brady thought that Philip would’ve shown back up by now if he were still alive.
In Chloe’s apartment, she passed out in Philip’s arms before coming to on the sofa. Philip was sorry for scaring her and explained how he landed in a mental institution after faking his grim fate.
Philip also confessed to setting Brady up, so Chloe unleashed her wrath over all the pain that Philip had caused.
After Philip showed deep remorse, he wanted Chloe to know that the guy who realized a goth girl was the coolest person he’d ever met was back.
Philip assured Chloe that he wouldn’t try to reunite with her and heard about her engagement to Xander, so he ultimately wished her happiness – no matter who it was with.
Despite Chloe’s anger over Philip’s actions, she was glad he was alive and gave him a hug.
Just as Philip opened the door to leave on Monday’s Days episode, he found a shocked Brady standing there.
In Marlena Evans’ (Deidre Hall) office, Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) filled her in on Sloan Petersen (Jessica Serfaty) losing Eric Brady’s (temporarily played by Jason Gerhardt) baby.
Shawn also showed up to cancel his therapy appointment for tomorrow and announce that he was quitting therapy for good. Marlena didn’t think that was the best idea, but Shawn snapped at her since he didn’t believe his issues were fixable.
Later, Shawn was in his office at the Salem PD when he pulled out his service weapon and looked at it like he was contemplating taking his own life.
At the Kiriakis mansion on Monday’s Days episode, Sarah felt some intense pain, so that interrupted her attempt to be honest with Xander about her involvement with Rex Brady (Kyle Lowder).
Xander took Sarah to the hospital and was quite supportive, so she expressed her genuine gratitude.
Kayla asked Sarah how far along she was during her examination, so Sarah faked another bout of pain before Kayla asked Xander to leave the room.
At the pub on Monday’s DOOL show, Rex got updates from Kate Roberts Brady (Lauren Koslow) on how she tried to talk Philip out of returning to Salem, but she was unsure of whether he’d truly listen.
Rex also revealed his engagement to Sarah, so Kate and Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) were taken aback over the news.
Kate worried that maybe Rex was rushing into marriage with Sarah, so he didn’t see why he wouldn’t and claimed she was carrying his baby as he left.
Roman and Kate struggled to process that shocker as they continued to worry about Rex’s romantic situation.
Once Rex found Sarah with Xander, she explained how Xander had helped her with a crisis – which turned out to just be Braxton-Hicks.
The topic of Rex and Sarah’s engagement came up, so Xander shook Rex’s hand and congratulated them. Xander mentioned Chloe accepting his proposal and acted like it was really something that they were all getting married.
After Xander exited, Sarah admitted that she was tempted to tell Xander the truth, but fate kept interrupting them and made her decide to stick to the original story.
Through the window on Monday’s Days episode, Xander watched as Rex put an engagement ring on Sarah’s finger.
