Marlena Confronts Pregnant Talia – Blames Her for Ruining Shawn & Belle’s Marriage?
Days of Our Lives spoilers and updates tease Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) will confront Talia Hunter (Aketra Sevillian). It seems no one’s secret is safe in a small town like Salem, and Marlena accuses her of ruining her daughter Belle Brady’s (Martha Madison) marriage!
The news that was supposed to have been kept secret has gotten out, that Talia and Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) got drunk and had grief sex and now Talia’s having his baby. T
his is the one thing that Belle cannot forgive or abide, bringing back memories of Jan Spears (Heather Lindell) appearing as her, thanks to the devil and claiming carrying Shawn’s baby.
As it turned out, the baby wasn’t even Shawn’s, although the sex he had with Jan thinking she was Belle was for real.
Shawn couldn’t turn his back on a baby he believed was his, and it took months and the revelation that the baby was Evan Frears’ (Brock Kelly) for Belle to forgive.
Now, the betrayal and pain is fresh anew for Belle, fearing if she doesn’t lose him to liquor, she will to Talia!
Belle cries all this out to her mother, who of course works in Salem University Hospital as Talia does-she found out overhearing Jada Hunter (Elia Cantu) confront Shawn at the SPD.
All this took place around the time of Victor Kiriakis’ (John Aniston) funeral and Chanel Dupree’s (Raven Bowens) reconciliation with Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman).
The timeframe is right-and the baby has to be Shawn’s, Talia’s tormentor was already in prison, even though Marlena thinks a paternity test needs done.
Shawn has been on a downhill spiral ever since he accidentally put his father Bo Brady (Peter Reckell) in a coma, and recently blaming himself for Victor’s death as well.
The drinking isn’t the problem, Shawn is, but Talia certainly hasn’t helped.
Marlena had previously treated Talia, when she was being victimized and controlled by Sloan Petersen’s (Jessica Serfaty) brother Colin Bedford (Jasper Newman).
But she’d also been trying to treat Shawn, and he was spiraling further and further, and Marlena is usually more compassionate but has no more patience for Talia.
There is fault on both their sides, to be sure, but doesn’t Talia, as a doctor, know what birth control is-most women stay on it regardless.
Marlena, after dealing with a bereaved and angry Belle and Talia’s sister not using discretion, has had it up to there with Talia.
Marlena confronts Talia for contributing to Shawn’s getting drunk that night when she was aware he was having problems, and being the catalyst in Shawn and Belle’s breakup.
