Days of Our Lives Recap: Wednesday, February 14 – Paulina’s Wedding Surprise – Theresa Spills Secret to Marlena

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Wednesday, February 14, reveals that John Black (Drake Hogestyn) surprised Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) with a romantic picnic in a wooded area of the park.

At home on Wednesday’s Days episode, Theresa Donovan (Emily O’Brien) woke up to find that Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) was missing and saw that the engagement ring was gone, too.

That left Theresa convinced that Alex took the ring to The Bistro to put in a souffle or that he had some other proposal stunt in the works.

When Alex came home and suggested a walk, Theresa happily got on board and seemed eager for him to pop the question.

Soon after, Alex and Theresa interrupted John’s picnic with Marlena, so they got an invitation to join them.

Theresa didn’t seem thrilled over Alex saying they didn’t have plans, but she liked all the stories that Marlena and John told from their history together.

Theresa wondered what John and Marlena’s secret was since they were still madly in love after all these years. John insisted respect and trust were the important things, but he added that staying romantic always helped.

Once Theresa pulled Marlena away for a private moment, Alex admitted he was feeling pressured to be “intensely romantic” for Valentine’s Day. John suggested Alex should remove that pressure and just be honest with Theresa.

Back with Theresa, she gave Marlena updates on the engagement ring she found and explained why she felt Alex was going to propose.

Marlena wasn’t so sure and thought maybe Theresa should handle the situation with Tate Black (Jamie Martin Mann) before taking the next step with Alex.

Theresa argued that they could have a long engagement, but she didn’t want to disappoint Alex by saying no to his beautiful ring.

Once Alex and Theresa headed home, he told her that she could stay home today while he took care of some things at the office.

Theresa mentioned making a reservation for Valentine’s Day dinner at The Bistro and seemed annoyed over Alex’s response being, “Sure, why not?”

However, Theresa ultimately decided Alex was just trying to throw her off ahead of the proposal.

In the park again on Wednesday’s DOOL show, Marlena expressed concern to John since Theresa had her hopes up about Alex popping the question.

After Marlena admitted she didn’t think that’s where Alex’s head was at, John revealed his advice for Alex since he was feeling so much romantic pressure.

Marlena eventually gave John a combo gift for Valentine’s Day and his birthday, so John was touched over the “going home to Doc” keychain and danced with her.

Next on Wednesday’s Days episode, Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) brushed a yellow rose across Kayla Johnson’s (Mary Beth Evans) face and gently woke her up to celebrate their anniversary.

Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein) had a similar idea when she brought a breakfast tray in, but she made the mistake of not knocking and interrupted Steve’s attempt to get passionate with Kayla.

Although Stephanie apologized for being an idiot, Kayla insisted it was fine and assured Steve that they could get their private celebration back on track later.

Once Steve and Kayla sat down to enjoy the breakfast Stephanie made, she asked them which of their weddings was their favorite. Kayla and Steve thought back to their marriage ceremony on the yacht since that was their best one.

Steve and Kayla also reflected on their most recent nuptials as they celebrated their love for each other.

Stephanie handed over some old wedding photos as a gift and said she’d be gone for many hours if her parents wanted to get back to what they were doing earlier.

After Stephanie left on Wednesday’s Days episode, Steve and Kayla indeed took things back to the bedroom.

At the hospital, Paulina Price (Jackée Harry) thanked Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) for checking on her over the phone and mentioned the flowers he sent to her room.

Since Rafe was confused, Paulina guessed maybe the department sent them.

Abe Carver (James Reynolds) showed up with some white roses, so Paulina realized all the bouquets and arrangements she’d been given so far contained white flowers.

Once Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) and Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens) showed up dressed for their wedding day, Chanel had a white bouquet as well.

Paulina was surprised to learn Chanel and Johnny planned to get married right there in her room. The white flowers were also a planned thing to decorate for their ceremony by Paulina’s hospital bedside.

Paulina agreed to be Chanel’s matron of honor and Johnny’s best person. Since Paulina was also in charge of the rings and giving Chanel away, she marveled over all her jobs!

Abe served as the wedding officiant and led the happy couple through the usual vows before they said some personal ones. Johnny and Chanel then traded rings before being pronounced husband and wife.

After Chanel and Johnny sealed it with a kiss, it was time for Paulina to be led away for surgery. Johnny reassured Chanel as they prepared to be the best-dressed waiting in the hospital.
