After Raging at Sheila and Deacon, Finn Makes a Beeline
At Il Giardino, Sheila tells a stunned Finn that she and Deacon are in love and couldn’t be happier. Deacon explains that he didn’t just call Finn so he could see them together, he wanted him to see that she could change, “I wanted you to see how much I believe in her rehabilitation, and I’m hoping you can believe in it too.”
In Forrester’s design office, RJ realizes Luna is very upset and asks if something happened. He fishes to find out if someone is bothering her at work. She assures him that’s not the case and flashes to her mother warning her to stay away from the Forresters. RJ isn’t trying to pry, he just wants to ensure she feels at home there. Luna tells him he’s been very welcoming, “You make me feels safe.” They banter as he lets her know she’s awesome… and beautiful.
In the main office, Brooke and Hope share a hug and reflect on how busy they’ve been. Brooke pries to find out if she’s still involved with Thomas and admits she’s worried about it. Hope tells her Finn feels the same way. Brooke is confused — why would Finn be worried about her and Thomas. Hope clarifies that he doesn’t know about their involvement, but he’s aware the kiss played a role in the end of her marriage. She explains why she dropped over and says they’re talk was nice, “Finn’s a good man.” Hope tells her mother that Finn believes she deserves better than Thomas.
Brooke’s surprised that Finn was so outspoken about Thomas. She’s sure Steffy wouldn’t appreciate his opinion about her brother. “He’s right, you do deserve better than Thomas.” Hope says he thinks she’s drawn to him because of her history with Liam. Brooke asks, “Do you think he’s right?”
At Il Giardino, Sheila tells Finn that love heals, “It changes people.” Deacon’s acceptance of her has changed her life profoundly. She hopes he can see the change in her and that he can find a way to be happy for them. Sheila feels she has so much love to give and would like to share it with him too if he’ll let her. Finn fumes, “What am I supposed to say? All I can think about right now is how much I miss my wife and children. Steffy never would have left if it weren’t for you,” he tells Sheila. Standing up, Finn hollers that if Sheila truly loved him, she would realize that she needs to leave Los Angeles! “Go back to Genoa City. Anywhere, literally anywhere but here! If you stay here, you’re going to cost me what I love most — my wife and my children!” Deacon closes his eyes in a grimace as the outburst ends.
In the design office, Luna tells RJ that working there has been a dream. She’s so grateful for the opportunity. RJ can see she’s passionate about her work. They reflect on his close bond with his grandfather and Luna lists off the ways RJ is helping him. “I don’t think I’ve ever met a guy, let alone anyone, who’s as kind and sincere as you.” The best part of working there is getting to work with him. She goes on that he’s clearly talented and his designs are amazing. RJ would love to see her wear one of them someday. He repeats that she’s beautiful. She titters, “You’re pretty hot yourself.”
In the main office, Brooke and Hope go over how good it feels that Thomas is solely interested in her. Hope marvels how easy it was to open up to Finn, who understands, because he’s also married to someone with a strong connection to someone else. Brooke thinks they have more in common than Hope realizes. Hope says he’s a remarkable man, a good doctor, a good listener, insightful and kind. “Steffy is lucky to have him as her husband.”
At the restaurant, Finn rages at Sheila that if she really loved him, she’d prove it by leaving town and letting him live his life with Steffy, Kelly, and Hayes without her. Sheila turns away and Deacon stands up. He tells Finn that he and Sheila were hoping for a fresh start. Finn tells him, “Go and have a fresh start somewhere else!” Deacon expects him to be open-minded. He’s taking people in at Il Giardino who have made mistakes but have changed. His mother is a part of that, “She’s going to work beside me everyday and I’m going to make damn sure she never hurts anyone again, and that includes Steffy.” Finn retorts, “You’re going to make damn sure.” Deacon reminds him he’s a black belt in karate and can control Sheila. Finn mocks, “Control Sheila?! With what your nunchucks?! Sheila shot us, Deacon, do you even hear yourself.” He warns that Hope will never accept this insanity. He’ll be throwing away his relationship with her. Deacon knows it will be shocking, but he believes in redemption, and he knows Hope does too. He could do the same thing for his mom. “Let us show you. Let us show Steffy and all the Forresters.” Deacon insists they can demonstrate that Sheila is changing, worthy of being loved, and that she can be a good and healthy part of his family.
In the design office, RJ is glad he joined the family business. Luna is too. RJ is cherishing every moment with his grandfather, “But I was actually talking about you.” Luna coyly goes back to thumbing through the gowns on the rack. RJ tells her he was struggling to find his calling, “And then I met you.” Her passion is inspiring and infectious. Sometimes he thinks about what fabrics and colors would look on her and how he’d make a dress tailored to how she walks. He’s traveled extensively but has never met anyone as special as her. “There’s something about you that is so special, magical, and mysterious. I just look forward to getting to know you better,” he says as he takes her hand.
In Deacon’s apartment, he asks Sheila if she’s OK. She’s just worried about Finn and is glad they didn’t tell him about the engagement yet. Deacon reminds her that people are going to be shocked that they’re together. Sheila sighs, “Especially Hope.”
Finn finds Hope in the office at Forrester and asks if it’s a good time. They go over her deserving to be happy. She says, “We both do.” She notices something is weighing on him. Finn tells her they have a lot in common; they both have complicated relationships with the people they love in their lives. Especially with our parents.” Hope agrees, “That is very true.” Finn asks, “Hope, do you understand what I’m saying? Do you know?” Hope, confused, asks Finn what she’s supposed to know. “What do you want to tell me?”
Next on The Bold and the Beautiful: RJ wants to know Luna’s life story, and Hope is floored when she learns about Deacon and Sheila.
