Just when we thought we had our tears over the untimely passing of Billy Miller under control, The Young and the Restless started the deluge all over again with a truly lovely tribute to the actor at the end of their September 21 air show.

Daytime is still reeling from the tragic loss of Young & Restless, All My Children, and General Hospital alum Miller, who died on September 15 just shy of his 44th birthday — and Genoa City is grieving one of its shining stars. A private memorial for Miller was held at CBS Television City on September 19, allowing much-needed space for his co-stars and colleagues to mourn.

“Today we cried a lot, we also laughed and shared beautiful stories,” Elizabeth Hendrickson said in her Instagram stories. “You were a true gem, BJ. We are and will always be your family.”

“It was really helpful to be with friends who knew Billy closely,” Hendrickson added. “I think we all needed that.”

And now the show has extended that circle to viewers by honoring Miller in a bittersweet post-show montage. The 10-second video may be brief, but it’s powerful and gut-wrenching in its simplicity. It begins with a title card saying “In Loving Memory,” and features clips of Miller flashing that trademark thousand-watt smile as Billy Abbott, dropping to his knees to propose and standing handsomely in formalwear. The tribute ends by fading to a black and white image of Billy Miller with his name and the dates 1979 – 2023.

See below, and be prepared to bawl.
