Tripp Has No Choice But to Give Up Ava’s Location While EJ Takes Action Against Wendy

In London, Harris grabs pillows from the bed to sleep on the chair. Ava coyly pats the bed and says, “Sleep with me.” More specifically, in the bed next to her. Harris appreciates the offer, but prefers the chair. Ava is reminded of a similar situation she was in with Jake, which led to love. But then her actions after his death led to this whole mess. She couldn’t handle it if something happened to Harris, too.

In the interrogation room, Rafe tells Tripp that Jada found his and Wendy’s passport pages. He’ll be charged with obstruction of justice and aiding and abetting unless he gives up the names on the fake passports. Tripp refuses to help. Rafe smugly assumes Wendy did the forgeries and picks up his phone to call Trask. Tripp stops him.

At DiMera, EJ calmly accuses Wendy of trying to hack into his phone to find evidence he tried to have Ava killed. Wendy tries to cover, but EJ admits he set a trap. When EJ muses that Tripp put her up to it, a protective Wendy spits, “For your information, Tripp didn’t even want me to…” EJ smirks at her admission.

Dropping the pretense, Wendy lays out the circumstantial evidence against him. Assuming he still has a hit out on Ava, she warns that’s a big mistake. Ava didn’t kill Susan, she declares. “Your mother is still alive.” EJ scoffs, but Wendy tells him how Ava remembered seeing Susan after the crash. EJ realizes Wendy must know where Ava is now. Wendy insists she doesn’t. EJ fires her.

In their room above the Pub, Jada forces Talia to admit that she slept with Shawn. Jada wonders what the hell she was thinking. After Talia recounts how she ended up with him, Jada yells at her for betraying Belle, who helped her when no one else would. Talia cries. All she wanted was to feel better after Chanel dumped her. She knows she screwed up, which is a pattern with her. She makes horrible decisions and hurts good people.

As Jada consoles her, Talia says she feels the worst about disappointing her. Jada isn’t disappointed in her. She’s disappointed she’s hurt. They agree they’re lucky to have each other. Jada knows Talia will find someone to love her for who she is. She urges her to hold out for them. Talia leaves so her sister can sleep in peace.

In the Square, Shawn admits to Belle that he slept it off in Jada’s room after getting drunk at the Pub. But the Hunter sisters were both working late. Belle tearfully tells him how worried she was when she didn’t hear from him. Shawn apologizes for that and for throwing EJ in her face. He doesn’t deserve her. Belle urges him not to say that. However, she wonders where they go from here if he doesn’t want to help himself.

Shawn vows to go to A.A., but Belle has heard his promises before. Shawn will prove he’s serious by going to a meeting and asks her to join him. As they turn to leave, they run into Talia. Belle asks how things went with Chanel. When Talia relays Chanel dumped her, Belle expresses how sorry she is. Talia says she is the last person who should be sorry.

Chanel comes home to a vase of roses. Then, Johnny comes to the door with another bouquet. He explains that, until he can take her to the rose garden in Florence next summer, he’s bringing the rose garden to her. They agree that their time in Italy was the happiest they’ve ever been. They move in for a kiss, but Chanel starts sneezing from all the roses.

After she takes an antihistamine, Johnny presents her with cannoli — not from Sweet Bits. Chanel says they stopped making them after Talia left. Johnny notes her emotional shift. Chanel feels bad about Talia and worries she’ll do something rash.

Later, Chanel falls asleep, cuddled up next to Johnny on the couch. He covers her with a blanket and starts to leave. She wakes up, apologizing for being a “total drip.” He’s not offended. Besides, they have plenty of more dates to go on. He kisses her and leaves her to sleep.

Alone, Chanel texts Talia to see if she’s doing okay.

At the hospital, Wendy tells Tripp what happened with EJ. He, in turn, tells her about his meeting with Rafe, who forced him to give up Ava and Harris’ location.

EJ finds Johnny making a drink at the mansion. He tells his son he fired Wendy for snooping. He adds that she claimed Susan is alive, but he doesn’t believe it.

Rafe comes to Jada’s room to invite her to London to find Ava.

In London, Harris assures Ava everything will work out. He holds out his hand, asking if she trusts him. She takes it, confirming that she does. They settle in to sleep while still holding hands.
