The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers update for Monday, September 18, reveals that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will chuckle to himself over Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) being impressed by his pitch to start at the bottom.

Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) will wonder what’s so funny when she appears, but Adam will brush past it and invite Sally to share a drink with him.

That’ll eventually lead to Sally’s dinner invitation since Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will still be dealing with some business at Kirsten divisions out of state.

The dinner will go well despite Adam’s comment about having everything “plotted out,” which will leave Sally worried since that’s how the old Adam would phrase things.

Adam will reassure Sally and hear how excited she is for her new interior design venture.

Since Sally can’t sketch her ideas fast enough, Adam will approve of her enthusiasm – particularly since things got so difficult after they lost Ava Spectra.

Before Sally and Adam know it, they’ll have finished off a bottle of Champagne on top of their earlier drinks from the bar.

Adam and Sally will seem tipsy when he takes her back to her suite, where he’ll plant a kiss on her outside the door.

After Adam quickly decides that was a mistake and blames it on the Champagne, Sally will agree that they can just forget about the blunder.

Adam will seem like he wants to say more as he’s walking off, but he’ll ultimately leave.

As for Sally, she’ll close her eyes and sigh deeply over the tricky situation.

Meanwhile, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will talk to Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) about her upcoming meeting with Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott).

Victoria’s goal will be to raise concerns about Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) decision-making skills and health since he’s been all over the place lately.

Nate will feel like Victoria is mostly just furious over losing the top spot at Newman Enterprises and will hint that retaliating isn’t the best idea.

Nevertheless, Victoria will have a serious discussion with Nikki at Society, so she’ll provide instances of Victor acting erratically and making changes just to flex his power.

Victoria will insist she’s worried about Victor and will think Nikki should be too since reclaiming the Newman throne could take a toll on his health.

After Nikki downplays Victor’s problematic behavior, she’ll maintain that they’re not going to lose Victor since she’ll make sure his health doesn’t suffer.

At Newman Enterprises, Victor will have someone switch Victoria’s portrait for his own.

When Victor meets with Nate, he’ll wonder where Victoria stands and whether she’ll seek revenge.

That’ll force Nate to play dumb and act like he didn’t get a chance to fully discuss everything with Victoria earlier.

Nate also won’t feel comfortable with this conversation since Victoria and Victor are both his bosses – not to mention he’s romantically involved with Victoria.

Victor will suggest that as long as Nate tries to help smooth things over with this transition, they’re good.

Nate will agree peace is the goal and will assure Victor that he’s on the same page about that.

Afterward, Victoria will seethe over the portrait swap and will realize Victor’s already been using the big chair again.

When Victoria reconvenes with Nate, they’ll clash over his meeting with her father.

Victoria will assume Nate tried to impress Victor by blabbing about her retaliation plans, so Nate will be offended as he denies it.

When Nate reiterates that he doesn’t support her attempt to fight back, Victoria will be disappointed that he’s not going to be a team player on this.

At the ranch on Monday’s Y&R episode, Nikki will tell Victor that they should vacation somewhere for maybe two weeks or a month.

If Victor delays his return to the office, Nikki will think it’ll give Victoria more time to get used to his CEO takeover.

Nikki will feel like they have plenty of stressful changes in the works when it comes to their new roles at the company, so she’ll beg Victor for this lengthy trip.

That way, they can return recharged and healthy for their next career chapter.
