The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will want to do everything she can to be a good mom to Claire Grace (Hayley Erin). Jordan (Colleen Zenk) robbed Victoria of the opportunity to raise Claire from birth, so connecting with her as an adult will be difficult.

Up until recently, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) viewed Claire as a monster for her role in trapping Nikki at the lake house and pumping her full of vodka.

Even after the DNA results came in, Nikki, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) were still concerned about the threat Claire posed.

However, things seem to have shifted thanks to Claire’s bravery at the cabin. Claire stood up to Jordan and nearly took her out of this world, so she proved she’s no longer loyal to her deranged great-aunt.

In the aftermath of that faceoff, Nikki showed great compassion by embracing Claire and stroking her hair as she cried.

We saw the first rumblings of a real grandmother and granddaughter bond, so Victoria may be pleased over Nikki and Claire’s progress.

Even Victor and Nick seemed grateful to Claire for saving Nikki’s life. The tension’s starting to lift, so Victoria will be hopeful about Claire eventually being treated like an accepted member of the family.

Of course, there’ll be some obstacles to work through, but there are definitely encouraging signs when it comes to Claire’s chance at redemption.

Nevertheless, Y&R writers will have to bring some family drama back into this story somehow. Could Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) play a role in how that happens?

Adam has a horrible track record when it comes to his own attempts to redeem himself. Victoria may view Adam as an awful example for Claire and see the potential for him to drag her into more trouble.

Adam might like the idea of bonding with his new niece since they’re both Newman outsiders. Victoria, on the other hand, might ban Adam from seeing Claire altogether and act like he’d be a toxic influence.

Once Claire is rehabilitated and released, there could be problems if she bonds with Adam against Victoria’s wishes. Victoria may fear Adam will lead Claire astray and potentially team up with him on some destructive plot.

When it comes to the Newman circle, Adam has always been a lone wolf on the outside looking in.

Claire could give Adam some company there if she relates to how he’s feeling despite the family’s attempt to embrace her.

For now, Victoria may try to put Claire in a protective bubble and warn that Adam can’t infiltrate it! It’s easy to imagine Victoria demanding that Adam stay as far away from Claire as possible.
