The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for Thursday, August 31, reveal that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will take a smug approach with Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) once he arrives at the ranch. Victor has just called an important meeting, where he intends to reveal a decision that’s definitely going to shake things up.
However, Victor will give Adam, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) a chance to speak their minds first. Of course, Adam will act like his arrogance is a good thing and will argue that nice guys finish last!
Nick will finally decide he’s had enough of Adam’s smart mouth and all the pain he’s brought to their lives, so he’ll strike back at his brother. Y&R spoilers say Nick will deck Adam and leave Victor even more convinced that the choice he’s making is the right one.
If Victor tries to put Adam in charge of Nick or vice versa, it’s just going to keep instigating round after round of this rivalry. Victor will be sick of it, so he’ll announce that Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will become the CEO of Newman Media.
That news will surprise even Nikki herself since Victor won’t fill her in beforehand. Nevertheless, Victor will explain why this is the best option in his eyes, so you can bet Adam will go ballistic and take this as a personal insult.
From Adam’s perspective, he’ll think Victor’s punishing him by putting Nikki on the throne when she knows nothing about Newman Media or how it should be run.
Victor will refuse to listen to Adam’s complaints or attempts to reason with his father, so he’ll probably just storm out and refuse to be involved at all.
Instead, Adam’s next project will involve scheming to get his revenge on Victor and anyone else he feels deserves it.
As for Sharon, will Victor’s decision to let Nikki run things change her mind about backing out of the deal? Sharon and Nikki are on good terms these days, so Nikki might convince her that they can still do great things with Kirsten Incorporated.
If Sharon does stand her ground and try to fight the merger that’s already in motion, it could lead to a major legal headache that no one wants.
