Summer’s Inner Bad Girl Rising – Embraces Phyllis’ Dirty Tricks
The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that some changes could be brewing for Summer Newman-Abbott’s (Allison Lanier) character. Ever since Summer returned from Italy, we’ve seen a more mature version that tried to stay on the right path – at least until she lied for Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford).
Summer’s decision to deceive Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and protect Phyllis at Diane Jenkins-Abbott’s (Susan Walters) expense cost her dearly. However, Summer could be gearing up for a fresh chapter that’s a total game-changer for her.
Back when Summer got on that rollercoaster, maybe it was a sign that her character would ride off the rails a bit, too! This is the perfect time for Summer to reenter her bad girl era.
Kyle hinted at that when he talked to Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) about Summer being just like Phyllis. After Kyle mentioned Summer blackmailing him into marriage to save Lola Rosales’ (Sasha Calle) life, he made it clear that Summer hadn’t changed in his eyes.
Perhaps Y&R writers will run with that and have Summer revert back to her scheming days. Summer might become a bit sassier and start fighting for what she wants in a whole new way.
Of course, that could mean Summer will plot a “Skyle” reunion, but there’s also a chance she could go after a new man entirely – namely Chance Chancellor (Connor Floyd) since he’s been growing closer to Summer in recent weeks.
Summer has been keeping Phyllis at a distance, but maybe they could actually bond over their shared scheming side.
Regardless, it’d be fun to watch Summer embrace the dirty tricks she’s learned from Phyllis to get what she wants – whether that be Kyle, Chance or someone else.
Summer has been playing the part of the reformed wife and mom for a while now, but maybe the divorce news will send her down a problematic road. That could be a good thing for drama’s sake!
