The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers recap for Wednesday, November 1, reveals that Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) was in denial at first, but RJ Forrester (Joshua Hoffman) insisted Eric Forrester (John McCook) only had a few months left to live.

That’s why this grand finale collection was so important to Eric, who hadn’t wanted anyone else to know the truth – especially Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye). RJ worried Ridge would hate him for keeping the secret, but Brooke insisted that would never happen.

That said, Ridge did need to know what was going on with his dad, so Brooke thought RJ should tell Ridge, too. RJ and Brooke shared an emotional hug as they reflected on Eric’s grim condition.

Elsewhere, Eric told Donna Logan (Jennifer Gareis) that he was all fired up and suspected that he sold out every piece. Although Donna was worried about Eric overdoing it, he excitedly declared that he thought he beat Ridge.

Katie Logan (Heather Tom) talked to some guests about finalizing their bids before speaking with Luna Nozawa (Lisa Yamada) alone.

After Luna sang RJ’s praises over what he was doing for his grandfather, Katie realized Luna must know the truth about Eric.

Luna admitted RJ had confided in her, so Katie urged her to be there for RJ in the coming months since he was going to need her.

At Forrester Creations on Wednesday’s B&B episode, Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor) made Ridge squirm before finally handing over the results, which showed that Ridge beat Eric in the fashion showdown.

Ridge gloated about how this meant his vision for Forrester was correct and pointed out that Eric was the one who pushed for this. Now Eric had lost, so Ridge wanted to be the one who told his father.

Once RJ and Brooke spoke with Ridge privately, Ridge revealed that he won and wanted to break the news to Eric right away.

Brooke and RJ had something more important to talk about, so Ridge wondered what could be more important right now.

RJ eventually confessed that Eric was dying and spilled the story of why he really started working with him. RJ also explained Eric’s symptoms, including his worsening tremors and the blood he’d been coughing up.

Ridge was upset over being kept in the dark, but RJ insisted Eric didn’t want anyone to know since he didn’t want pity. Eric was particularly adamant about keeping Ridge out of the loop on his condition.

RJ explained that this is why Eric was so desperate to complete his last collection, so Ridge snapped that he got it! It was hard for Ridge as he realized the man who had given him everything was truly dying.

RJ said he came close to telling Ridge so many times and hoped his dad could understand why he didn’t want to betray Eric. Ridge claimed he indeed understood despite his shock and anger over the situation.

When Ridge asked how long Eric had left, RJ confessed that the doctor said a few months. Brooke, Ridge and RJ were all crying as they tried to cope with this difficult blow together.

Back with Eric, he worried about how long the results were taking. Eric feared Ridge might pull off a win and began coughing, so Donna pushed him to take care of himself and avoid getting too worked up.

However, Eric felt that if he didn’t win this competition, it was all over for him. Eric had made peace with the fact that this was likely his last collection, but losing could take away the excitement and thrill of the fashion business.

Since Eric was determined to find out the results ASAP, he made his way to his office at Forrester Creations and found Ridge with RJ as well as Brooke.

As Ridge mulled over Eric’s attempt to solidify his legacy, Eric came barging in with Donna and assumed the others knew the results from the looks on their faces.

Eric wanted to know who won, so Ridge offered a hint of a smile and put on a brave face for his dad.
