On a Heartbreaking Day, General Hospital’s Wes Ramsey Salutes Laura Wright: ‘I Remain in Awe of Her’
It’s impossible not to feel a certain heaviness on the air each time we flip the calendar page to September 11. Despite more than two decades having passed, the horrors of what happened remain with us all, leaving a dark cloud hanging over our heads which can’t help but leave us feeling shaken.
Yet being the creatures that we are, we look for the light emanating from within that darkness. We look for something, anything, to remind us that even in the wake of great sadness there is something more. Which is why the very special message that Wes Ramsey shared helped lift our hearts.
“On this very somber day of remembrance and reflection for the fragility of our time here on earth,” General Hospital‘s erstwhile Peter wrong, “I must take a moment to share the brightly-shining sunlight-lining within this important day.”
He was referring, of course, to girlfriend Laura Wright. “My best friend and the love of my life was born on this day,” Ramsey continued in a beautiful Instagram post. “As she continues to inspire so many on her journey (myself included), I remain in awe of her strength while being so sensitive, humbled by her dreamy optimism balanced with a beautiful simplicity towards pragmatism.”
Clearly, their relationship has been a centering thing for the actor. “I learn more about life and myself the longer I know her and continually feel a deep gratitude in sharing my own journey alongside hers.”
Ultimately, his message was a reminder to us all. “Today is indeed a day to remember how much those close to us mean to us… so let me say Happy Birthday to this stunning spectacle of beauty, soulful with, sharp humor and a refined, ever flowing grace. Thank you for sharing so much of yourself with so many and yet always saving something magical for just me. I love you.”
