Li Discovers Luna Working at Forrester — and Hope Is Rocked by Deacon’s Reveal

In the Forrester office, Hope asks Finn what is wrong. He flashes to Sheila and Deacon revealing they’re in love. Hope asks him to just tell her — clearly something is upsetting him. Finn stammers that he shouldn’t have brought it up. Hope implores him to just tell her what is going on. Finn tells her he just wanted to check on her after their conversation about Thomas. Hope says he’s a bad liar. Finn advises her to talk to her dad, “Maybe pay him a visit. Go talk to your father, Hope.”

In the design office, RJ teases Luna about being a beautiful mystery, “I can’t wait to find out more about you.” She looks pained. RJ goes on to say he doesn’t know anything about her and promises if she shares something he’ll keep it to himself. Carter interrupts to gripe about the expensive lace he and Eric ordered from Paris. RJ says the couture collection deserves the best. Carter tells Luna that the guy is really talented. RJ thanks Carter for the vote of confidence and asks him to pay the invoice for the lace. They leave to go over the numbers and Luna’s phone rings. It’s her mother. She cringes.

Luna answers her phone and her mother complains about her not answering her calls, “I love you and I can tell when you’re avoiding me.” Luna says that everything has been going so well at Forrester. Her mother rants, “Luna you can’t be there! This has to end today!” Luna complains that she makes it sound like working there is a bad thing. She enthuses about the energy of the place and the beautiful dresses. Her mom tells her, “This can’t happen and you know why. You’ll never make anything of yourself there.” Luna protests that she’s been working with Eric Forrester himself, and his grandson RJ. Her mother warns it’s only a matter of time before it all comes crashing down, “Baby, I’m just trying to protect you.” Luna insists she’s fine and she’s happy there. Her mother didn’t want her in Los Angeles at all, let alone at Forrester. Luna says it’s her dream. Her mom warns her dreams will turn into nightmares and reminds her, “Your Aunt Li will never allow it.”

In the main office, Li enters and is surprised to see Finn. She came to talk to Ridge about Steffy and the kids, about why they’ve been gone so long. She thought maybe he could convince her since Finn’s had no luck. She asks why he’s there. Finn says he came to see Hope, “I’m concerned about her.” Li asks why.

At Deacon’s place, Sheila tells him that Hope will be shocked when she finds out they’re in love and it will be even worse when she learns he’s going to be her husband. He could lose her. Deacon wants a life with Sheila, who worries that he’ll end up resenting her. Deacon insists Hope has the biggest heart of anyone he knows. She won’t be happy and this will take some time, but eventually she’ll come around when she sees how much he loves her. In time, she’ll accept the relationship.

Sheila wonders if Deacon really believes Hope will accept her. Deacon assures her they’ll work for this; they’ve beat the odds before. When the time is right, he’ll tell Hope. She loves him and wants him to be happy, “She’s going to see that we’re good for each other.” Sheila expresses her love and kisses him. They debate about when to tell Hope. Deacon points out they’re engaged and they’re going to have to go public unless she wants to live in the bathroom for the rest of her life. Sheila marvels about these amazing few days and his faith in her. She promises never to take his faith in her for granted. They’re kissing when Hope knocks and calls out. Sheila starts to head to the bathroom, but Deacon wants her to stay. They’ll keep the engagement under wraps but Hope is going to find out about them right here, right now.

In the design office, Luna is fretting and upset when RJ returns. He asks what’s going on. She sniffs, “Nothing.” He asks again. Luna says she had a call from her mom. He asks if she’s OK. Luna tells him her mom has always been a free spirit, an artist, and had her when she was really young, so they sort of raised each other. She didn’t want her to come to Los Angeles but she always dreamed of working in fashion. “I don’t know how much longer I’m going to be here.” RJ says they think she has a bright future there. She clicks with the company… and in other ways. RJ tells Luna that keeping his grandfather’s secret means a lot to him. “Stop thinking that this is going to come to and end. It’s not. I don’t want you going anywhere.” They embrace.

In the main office, Finn tells his mother that Hope has a lot going on in her life right now. Li scoffs, “You know the history between Steffy and Hope, right? Do you want to risk doing something else to push your wife away?!”

In the design office, Luna and RJ compliment each other. He gets called away to the loading dock. Luna thanks him and then tries to get back to work. Suddenly, Li’s voice rings out behind her, “Luna! What are you doing here?”

At Deacon’s place, he tells Sheila to give him a minute. She heads to the bathroom and he lets Hope in. Hope says that Finn stopped by the office and was being very cryptic and suggested she come to see him. She asks if Deacon is in some kind of trouble. Deacon says he’s fine; he’s better than fine, “I’m in love.” Hope didn’t even know he was seeing anyone. Deacon explains they were keeping it on the down low because some people might not accept it, including her. Deacon asks his daughter to trust him; he would never do anything to endanger her or her mother. Hope frowns, “Endanger us? What are you… who are you in love with?” Sheila emerges from the bathroom and says, “Hello, Hope.” Hope’s eyes widen to the size of dinner plates. Deacon takes Sheila’s hand and declares, “Sheila and I are in love.” Shaking her head, Hope gawps, “You and Sheila?! No!”
