General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Esme Prince (Avery Pohl) has to get her memories back sooner or later, so we should start thinking about how that might happen. Will Esme’s memories flood back on their own or could she take a bold step to reclaim them?

GH fans know Esme’s been struggling to navigate this new life where she doesn’t remember her past mistakes. People constantly judge Esme for bad decisions and despicable actions that she doesn’t recall at all.

Part of Esme feels stuck – like she can’t truly move forward until she knows more about her history. That could play a role in Esme seeking new hypnosis help to get her memories back.

Nikolas previously wanted Carolyn Webber (Denise Crosby) to manipulate Esme’s mind and use hypnosis to make her amnesia permanent.

Carolyn refused to participate in Nikolas’ scheme, so there’s still a chance for Esme to get more beneficial hypnosis from Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) or someone else.

Of course, there are risks involved since Esme stands a better chance of being prosecuted if she remembers the crimes she’s been accused of. Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) could still decide to move forward with the case.

However, there could be risks if Esme doesn’t seek memory help as well. Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) admitted that Nikolas likely wouldn’t land in prison for holding Esme captive without her testimony.

If Nikolas doesn’t face charges for that and remains a free man upon his return, he could throw around Cassadine money and threats to win a custody case.

It’d be easy for a powerful guy like Nikolas to bribe or blackmail a judge and ultimately score custody of Ace Cassadine (Jay and Joey Clay).

Esme’s best chance at defeating Nik in court might be to remember that he held her hostage and testify that Elizabeth Baldwin’s (Rebecca Herbst) statement was accurate.

If Esme feels like getting her memories back is the only way to keep Ace, she might try some new hypnosis strategies to bring them to the surface.
