General Hospital’s Kate Mansi Cheers Kelly Monaco — and Warns What’ll Happen ‘If Ya Try to Come for Her’

This week, as General Hospital leading lady Kelly Monaco reached a major milestone as Sam McCall — her 20th anniversary in the role — she was celebrated far and wide. Heck, considering that this was a sampling of the gifts she received from fans in 2022, we can only imagine the outpouring of love this year.

Among the actress’ well-wishers was a new(ish) addition to her on-screen fam: Kate Mansi, Days of Our Lives’ former Abigail who in June took over for Lexi Ainsworth as Sam’s half sister, Kristina. “Special day for Kelly,” cheered the Emmy winner, sharing a couple of sweet photos from the set.

From there, Mansi quoted rapper Just Brittany’s earworm “That’s My Sis.” “As the song says, ‘That’s my sis right there, and if ya try to come for her, I’ma getcha.’”

Always good to know who has your back!

Monaco’s storied tenure as Sam began back in 2003, when General Hospital spinoff Port Charles was cancelled. (More on that show here.) She’d been, ahem, slaying as vampire bait Livvie Locke and, as such, was in high demand once she was a free agent again. In fact, all three networks contacted her about new roles, she tells Soap Opera Digest. “But I was like, a diehard General Hospital fan. That was my dream. I was like, ‘General Hospital all the way!’”
