‘Bad Seed’ Has Returned, Leaving Us Wondering What Charlotte Will Do Next? — Plus, a Hot New Couple in the Making?

We’ve started to get some answers as to who has been targeting Sonny and Anna on General Hospital, which came with a slight twist. Plus, the walls are closing in on Gladys, and Kristina fans got a treat this week. We didn’t get much of a cliffhanger on Friday, but overall it was a good week in Port Charles, unless your name is Drew Cain. 

The Bad Seed Returns

Well, well, well… we seem to be back where we started with Charlotte, and the bad seed has returned! This again smells of a big rewrite, unless there are more twists to come because the person outside of Anna’s house before the fire and while setting it for sure looked like an adult. So the questions we have are, did Charlotte start the fire, and did she trash the suite, or is she just a red herring? They’ve done a good job teasing it lately with Charlotte seemingly all of the sudden wanting her “papa” to herself. This is a stark change from a few months ago when she seemed to be a big ‘Vanna’ fan. So what happened? The worst part of this twist is Valentin is back to keeping secrets from Anna, which begs the other question, can these two make it as a couple?

There’s been some speculation among readers that Victor may have pulled a repeat of Helena and Jake while he had Charlotte stashed in that boarding school and has brainwashed her. That I could see, especially since she’s continuing his hatred of Anna and coming between her and Valentin now Victor’s dead and can’t do it. The tarot cards Charlotte is suddenly into could play into this theory, as that’s how Helena and Faison controlled Drew…

I am all for the twist, if we can call it that, that Anna’s house fire and suite trashing were done by one individual, while the shooting at the pool was likely targeted at Sonny. If they are going to move forward with Charlotte the demon child, I simply can’t see her setting up a gunman to shoot at Anna.

I had a good chuckle when Carly reminded Charlotte she’s also a Spencer… So basically she’s got bad girl genes from both sides of the family!

Sam Does What the PCPD Don’t

Between Cody and Sam, who needs Dante and the PCPD? They seem to be putting all the pieces together in the case against Gladys and Dr. Montague, and gathering up the evidence needed. Speaking on Montague, where the heck is he? One would expect he would have fled by now knowing what is inevitably coming his way. However, the fact that Gladys still has no idea the walls are closing in on her, well Sam and Dante need to use that to trap her and haul her off to jail. As I said in last week’s column, it would be poetic justice to see Gladys reunited with Cyrus in Pentonville!

I really enjoyed Cody coming fully clean with Sasha about what he’s known about Gladys for months now, and Shasha’s reaction to his confession. Cody threw himself under the bus, while she reminded him that he time and time again tried to warn her and she didn’t listen. And Cody sleeping on the floor next to Sasha was just adorable. I just hope his lie about Mac doesn’t come to ruin their relationship in some way. The last thing we need is these two becoming a repeat of Brook Lynn and Chase.

Blackmailing Blair and BLQ Blasts Granny

So as it appeared last week, Blair’s main goal in this Decptor drama is to get out of paying Martin a buttload of alimony every month by blackmailing him into marrying Lucy. However, One Life to Live fans were a little skeeved out when Martin revealed their marriage went south when Blair was caught in bed with David Vickers. Even Kassie DePaiva spoke out on social media giving that a facepalm!

As bad as I felt for Brook Lynn last week, even though she deserved the hell Maxie gave her, this week I was once again impressed by her character. Her telling Tracy that she hoped Deception was worth it because it cost her her granddaughter was a great line, and for a second, Tracy appeared actually a bit hurt. But I’m sure she sat down, and the feeling passed knowing Tracy. It’s also good to see Brook Lynn getting back to her music, and it was touching that she even offered “Eddie” some advice on his song, and he complimented her back.

Not only did Maxie give Brook Lynn hell last week, but she gave some to Lucy as well when she learned Lucy turned down a lucrative offer to save Deception over her ELQ voting rights. Of course Scotty… hey, he’s still here… took Lucy’s side and comforted her after the fight. Their whole queen and her knight-in-shining-armor talk made me a little green. Please oh please, don’t tell me they are going back to these two again. Bring back Obrecht for Scott, and keep Lucy with Martin!

Is it Pentonville, or HBO’s Oz?

Pentonville felt a little bit like HBO’s Oz this week as things got dark and dirty. Cyrus quickly made sure the guard didn’t tell Drew who Austin was meeting and promised him that his son would be taken care of. How? Cyrus gave away all his money! Drew meanwhile still has Aurora…

Of course, Drew’s sentence appears to all come down to, “How can we use this to get dirty on Sonny?” Why do all roads have to lead back to Sonny, as Diane put it? But if it gets Drew out of there quicker, so be it.

On Friday, two men beat the tar out of Drew and left him for dead, referring to it as a “job.” Cyrus soon found Drew, who is now on his way to General Hospital. Why does it feel like Cyrus arranged for all of this, just to get Drew out of Pentonville so he can’t snoop into his business any longer? Maybe now they’ll send him to Shady Brook where he originally was supposed to go?

Other Storyline Speculations and Thoughts

I may be in the minority, but I kind of like whatever is going on between Gregory and Tracy. Now that he’s confessed about his ALS, perhaps Tracy’s icy heart will melt a little. She has to be thinking about how this will affect Chase and Brook Lynn. Even from their first meeting, I could see Tracy’s eventual exit being with Gregory. Sort of a, “Hey, let’s travel the world and work on that bucket list of yours…” Then a few months later, Tracy would call home with the news of Gregory’s passing. I think that’s a much nicer send-off than having us viewers having to watch the realities of ALS play out on screen. We need a break from some of the gloomy stories as of late.

At this point, I’m okay with Marshall selling The Savoy. The storyline between him and Ms. Wu badgering him to sell the club is boring. I’d much rather tag along with Ms. Wu to the new hot club in town, Intreage! Plus, who is Marshall kidding thinking “Eddie Maine” is going to bring people back to The Savoy?  Now that Blaze is back, he better book her!

Speaking of Blaze, holy chemistry Batman! Blaze and Kristina have clearly hit it off from their first run-in on Friday. I’m all for seeing where this might go. Sorry ‘Pristina’ fans!

So Molly’s surrogate is pregnant… yay? Viewers are already speculating this is going to go every which way wrong, from Andrea either running off with the baby or selling it to someone else… Please no! Just let Molly and TJ concentrate on welcoming a happy and healthy baby, for the next nine months… off-screen! It seems there are very few viewers out there invested in this storyline. If I’m wrong, leave a comment below!

Finally, what is up with Portia? She can’t be pleasant at all to Spencer, but she’s sweet as honey to Esme. She’s got to be playing a game here, maybe hoping to use whatever Esme tells her to break up Spencer and Trina. I’ve always said if she just sits by and does nothing, that Spencer is likely to do that on his own. Spencer’s really working my nerves with his carefree attitude about Trina’s education and dismissing her schoolwork and studies.
