General Hospital Youngster Says So Long: ‘Sometimes Things Aren’t a Fit’

Now that General Hospital has recast Sam and Jason’s son with Asher Antonyzyn — more on him here — his previous portrayer, junior achiever Zakary Risinger, is saying a fond farewell. “The cat is out of the bag that there is a new Danny Morgan in Port Charles,” began the message posted to his parent-run Instagram account. “We have known about this for some time and would like to express deep gratitude for the opportunity to play Danny even for a short time.

“This opportunity [to tackle the legacy character] came for Zakary at a time that was so wonderful for him. We are very excited to see his replacement shine and hope you all will be as kind to him as you have been to us!”

Risinger, who’s been in showbiz since he was a baby, made his General Hospital debut in the fall of 2021. From the sounds of it, good things are around the corner for the up-and-comer. “Zak is flooded with opportunity right now, and there is no sadness. He has worked all 14 years of his life and understands sometimes things have to change or aren’t a fit. He is incredibly grateful to be even a small part of the rich history that is General Hospital.”
