If you were watching General Hospital on September 27, you may have wondered about Craig Sjodin, whose passing was acknowledged with an “In Loving Memory” card at the end of the episode. Was he an actor? A producer? A director? No. But he played a key role to General Hospital as an ABC still photographer for the last 39 years.

In that capacity, Sjodin shot everyone who was anyone in Port Charles — and on countless primetime series as well. You can see samples of his work above and also below. From left, that’s Nathan Fillion (Joey, One Life to Live) on Castle, Marcia Cross (Kate, One Life to Live) on Desperate Housewives and Susan Lucci (Erica, All My Children) going Dancing With the Stars.

Sjodin died on September 15 as a result of injuries suffered in a bicycle accident. He had just retired from the job that took such great advantage of his sharp eye last month and, according to his obituary, was looking forward to taking his family on trips to Australia and other sites that he visited over the course his career. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, son, sisters and many more. “He was the youngest 67-year-old we have ever known,” said his loved ones. And he had a tremendous gift for getting the shot, we might add.
