General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that many fans have been complaining on social media about Ava Jerome (Maura West) and how she’s been written lately. It’s clear that Ava hasn’t been acting like her usual strong self in this whole situation with Austin Gatlin-Holt (Roger Howarth) and Mason Gatlin (Nathanyael Grey).

Based on Ava’s history, we know she’s more than capable of handling people like Mason and Austin.

Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom) was a far more formidable foe – and Ava often held her own against him!

However, the writers have been letting Ava cower in fear and be naïve at times to what’s really going on. Ava used to be a clever, fierce woman who got things done, so where is the real Ava Jerome?!

Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) dialogue in GH’s November 8 episode highlighted the problem when he had to spell everything out for Ava.

Even Sonny said Ava was smarter than this as he pushed her to see that Austin had been playing her the whole time.

It’s sad to see how far Ava has fallen since she was a damsel in distress during the kidnapping fiasco and has been letting these creepy cousins blow up her life.

Now that Ava knows the truth about Austin, Mason and Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober), the show has an opportunity to shift gears and get Ava back to a more accurate version of herself.

Will this lead to a vengeful turning point and bring back the character’s fire?

This could set the stage for Ava to show off her feisty side if the writers finally decide to write Ava correctly again.

Ava could use an overhaul right about now, so let’s hope one is in the works! Maybe Ava will return to her forceful roots and prove she’s not someone to be messed with.
