Sonny’s Wedding Derailed – Arrested Again in Marriage Ceremony Shocker?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) recently celebrated a big win in court. Sonny’s loved ones feared he could be headed to prison, but he managed to avoid that when the charges were suddenly dismissed without prejudice.

Although it’s great news that Sonny was allowed to walk free and continue living his life as usual, his latest scheme could come back to haunt him.

GH writers made sure the characters emphasized the “without prejudice” part of all this multiple times, so there were repeated explanations about how the charges could be filed again anytime.

Since the show clearly wanted fans to keep that in mind, we have to assume Sonny might be arrested all over again down the road.

Sonny has some powerful enemies that could use this situation to their advantage.

If actual evidence surfaces against Sonny, then he may not be so lucky in court next time around. This could turn into a real threat to Sonny’s freedom at some point.

Of course, we also know Sonny and Nina Reeves’ (Cynthia Watros) wedding is coming up.

That could ultimately be when Nina is exposed as the SEC snitch, but it could also prove to be a troubling day for Sonny when it comes to his legal issues.

Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) definitely wanted Sonny to understand that the charges could be refiled, so Sonny may indeed have another courtroom crisis brewing.

The fact that Sonny bested Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) could make him work even harder to bring Sonny down.

Cyrus might still be able to score solid proof through his minions and sink Sonny in the end.

Then again, maybe there’s someone else out there who could get the job done instead – like Selina Wu (Lydia Look) if she betrays Sonny.

Whatever the case, Sonny could be more vulnerable now that these charges are essentially hanging over him. Just because they didn’t stick now doesn’t mean there won’t be problems in the future!

Sonny’s wedding day might be the perfect soapy occasion for another arrest, so stay tuned to see if his attempt to marry Nina will end in a jail cell.
