Can you believe it’s been 12 years of the talented Melissa Claire Egan as our beloved Chelsea Lawson from Young and the Restless? Time flies when you’re in the presence of an acting queen! Since she jumped onto the scene in 2011, we’ve witnessed not just the evolution of a character but the growth of a remarkable woman.

Melissa has worn many hats. Actor, mom, and just an all-around awesome human being. From the highs to the lows, she’s been an open book about her journey, making us feel like we’re right there with her.

The Emmy nominated actress, has been married to her husband Matt Katrosar since July 2014 and is already a mom to one son. She gave birth to her first baby boy, Caden back in 2021. When Melissa first announced her second pregnancy back in February this year, she mentioned that she was due in August, writing, “Looks like we’re just destined to have August babies!”

But turns out her baby number 2, Jake Joseph Katrosar had a different plan and was born on July 14, 2023. She even took a little maternity break from Y&R and after almost 3 monthsshe is back on set.

While she is back to rocking Chelsea’s role once again, the Y & R set had a little surprise visit from a special somebody recently. Egan had her son, Caden Katrosar, crash the set for “bring your son to work day,” and let me tell you, this kid’s got some serious Victor Newman vibes, it’s just adorable! Melissa took to her Insta and posted some pics of her and Caden running around on set and him chillin’ in a director’s chair like a total boss. She even posted these cute videos that you have to see.

In her caption, she got real about the journey to having Caden and how bringing him to work was like a full-circle moment. From IVF needles to dealing with the tough days, she laid it all out. Firstly she was super stoked to be able to show her first born where she works, a place she absolutely loves. But these times also brought back some painful memories.

She wrote,

“But I’m also reminded of the countless shots I had to give myself in my dressing room. IVF needles. Trying not to bleed on my wardrobe. Also when I had my first miscarriage, coming to work the next day in this beautiful space I call a second home and rushing to leave by lunch to have a D&C.”

Before the joy of little Caden, Egan went through a tough time in 2018 trying to expand her family. It was a dark road as she went through a miscarriage but thankfully fastword to know she is a mom of two healthy baby boys.

In her post she continued, ”Not trying to bring up the sad stuff, but I’m just so grateful for my 2 sweet angels and it’s such a reminder to always have hope!!! Here I am with my baby boy. At work. Today was a special day.”

And among the videos she shared there was one that absolutely stood out. The real show-stealer was when Caden took over Victor Newman’s desk. A mini-boss in the making, going through paperwork and answering calls like he owns the place. And the way he was going through the paperworks, it was exactly how a Newman would do when they are mad or nervous.

Victor better watch out, there might be a new kid in town eyeing that chair! All in all, it was a special day on set for Mel and her mini-me, and we have one thing to say.
