Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers preview video for the week of August 28-September 1 reveals that Dick Van Dyke will make his first appearance in an intriguing new role. The details of Van Dyke’s character have been kept under wraps – partly because he’s suffering from memory loss and doesn’t know who he is.
DOOL’s weekly promo kicks off with Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) asking this mystery man for his name. Van Dyke’s character laughs and admits he was hoping Kayla could tell him instead, so he’ll be in good spirits despite his confusion.
The police will be involved in Dick Van Dyke’s Days debut since Jada Hunter (Elia Cantu) will ask Kayla to examine him. There’ll apparently be a situation where this struggling stranger is found lost and alone somewhere in Salem.
Fortunately, Kayla and Dr. Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) will do whatever they can to get to the bottom of things. This fascinating new patient will definitely get the time and attention he deserves.
Once Kayla summons Marlena, Van Dyke’s character will tell Dr. Evans that he needs to get out of the hospital as soon as he can. He’ll claim to be on a very important mission, so he may have moments where his mind steps back into the past.
There must be some buried secret that’ll ultimately be revealed, so Days fans will be curious to learn any shocking news that he’s forgotten.
John Black (Drake Hogestyn) and Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) will also pitch in when it comes to uncovering the truth behind who this man is and what his history looks like. Some twists and turns are looming as Days slowly unravels what really happened to him.
The show’s weekly preview promises that America’s national treasure becomes a man with a mystery – and Marlena vows to try to put the pieces of his life together. You can bet Dr. Evans won’t rest until she solves this memory puzzle.
