Days of Our Lives’ Kristen Just Made a Big ‘Mistake’ That Left Fans Scratching Their Heads

Ah, teenage hormones. Holly’s all grown up and Tate’s back in town, and suddenly Days of Our Lives is thick with them. Holly’s madly in love with Johnny (or so she thinks) and Tate’s head over heels for her after just one meeting. As if that doesn’t make things uncomfortable enough, their second meeting at the DiMera mansion got an extra dose of awkwardness when Kristen warmly greeted Tate… as Christopher!

He was quick to brush her off and insist that wasn’t his name, but the interaction likely took a number of viewers by surprise. So whether you’re a newer viewer who has no idea what they were talking about, or a longtime viewer who may need a little refresher course, we thought we’d help you out on what went down between them.

Picture it, Salem 2014. Still smarting from having been jilted at the altar by Brady (for drugging and raping Eric), Days of Our Lives‘ Kristen (at the time still played by Eileen Davidson) comes back to town after an extended “vacation.” In her absence, Brady had fallen for Theresa (played by Jen Lilley before this latest switch to Emily O’Brien!), married her, annulled the marriage and moved on… until Kristen’s return pushed him right back into Theresa’s arms!

If there’s one thing Kristen does best, though, it’s obsess over Brady and get madly jealous over whomever he’s with. On top of that, Kristen was already ticked at Theresa for having put John in a coma. So when she overheard the then-brunette admitting that she was pregnant with Brady’s child after their latest fling, Kristen decided it was the perfect chance for revenge. She had her goons kidnap Theresa, then extracted the embryo and implanted into her before Brady even knew he was going to be a father.

Yes, Kristen literally ripped Theresa’s baby from her womb!

She then skipped town, telling Brady she carried a part of him with her and gave birth to little Christopher over in Italy. Unfortunately, the tot was born with an autoimmune deficiency and Kristen needed a bone marrow transplant — and that meant he needed his real family! Eventually, with a little help from Melanie, the truth came out, Christopher got his transplant from Theresa, and she and Brady got their son back, renaming him Tate.

And that was that. There was also some more kidnapping, a castle, and Kristen falling to her presumed death after a tussle with Marlena for a couple years, but that was just icing on the cake. For Kristen, though, as she said, Tate will always be the little baby boy she stole from his parents and gave birth to in Italy.

Whether he likes it or not. We’re getting definite Vivian and Philip vibes here…

Oh, and fun fact, she was about to try the same scheme over again with Sarah, only to learn she was already pregnant with Rachel, so there was no need!
