Jen Lilley Speaks Out Before Her Recast Steps In
We’re pretty sure no one was expecting Jen Lilley to reveal all that she did about what went down when she returned as Days of Our Lives’ Theresa, but here we are. And now, as we get a sneak peek at what’s to come, Lilley has a few more words to say — though it might be what she’s not saying that’s the most revealing!
Over on Instagram the actress shared a few pics of her return, though it was the one that turned out to be a decently revealing behind-the-scenes shot that she had the most to comment on!
“I’m cracking up,” Lilley wrote, “because I saw this first press photo and had to confirm with Eric Marstolf that this was us between takes quickly judging and absorbing some redirection we didn’t seem to agree with. I think it was something like, just remember they don’t like each other that much. Swipe.”
Yup, that kiss was definitely them not liking each other that much!
“Excited for all my Days of Our Lives episodes this week,” she continued, “and very happy for the lady taking over the role of Theresa. Be kind to her. She’s a stellar performer and being a recast is super hard. We’re all family and I got nothing but love for all my Days of Our Lives people.”
As for who that lady taking over might be, after you check through the photos below (and see some amusing Paul Telfer/Xander fare), Lilley may have dropped a pretty huge hint…
Though we haven’t gotten official word, Lilley did share a link to Monsters and Critics on her Instagram stories suggesting that Emily O’Brien might be taking over the role.
The rumor mill has been buzzing over the possibility, and O’Brien would fit every detail that Lilley described in our video interview of what went down at Days of Our Lives. And while the actress didn’t offer a word of comment when she shared the article, it certainly seems like we may have just gotten a pretty decent endorsement of the theory!

In the end, while we aren’t sure quite how long Lilley will be sticking around in the role (12 episodes could be any length of time on Days of Our Lives!), we’re thrilled she and Theresa are back on our screens. And so is she!
“So happy to share the screen again with this powerhouse actor for a dozen or so Days of Our Lives episodes,” Lilley wrote. “You’re a treasure sir!”
