Is Dimitri On His Way Out?
Earlier this year Peter Porte stepped into the realm of Days of Our Lives as Dimitri Von Leuschner. From his very first appearance, he became an instant hit with the fans. And of course, a very welcome addition to the cast. However, with the current progression of the storyline it feels as though the character is quickly reaching the end of the run. Does that mean Peter Porte is on his way out of the Peacock soap? Keep reading to find out all the details.
Dimitri debuted on Days of Our Lives on a high note, holding Kate hostage on a boat. In the beginning it felt like the European hottie will go on to fill in the empty throne of a mega DiMera villain. Something the show has been lacking after Stefano’s death on the soap. None of his children have been able to live up his villainy. Megan is perhaps the only one who comes somewhat close to him in her mindgames and ruthlessness. Considering that Dimitri is her son, we thought he must’ve inherited the evil genes and would rise up to the expectations.
Days of Our Lives: Will Dimitri Head Back To Europe?
Alas! it seems that the makers have yet again failed in giving us a formidable villain. For Dimitri is currently on the run with lover Leo, after being duped by Gwen on Days of Our Lives. The only storyline he has ever since his first day was with her. Thus, with her gone, he really has nothing going for him. Stefan and EJ have gone back to feuding with each other for the DiMera throne. And quite honestly, their dear nephew is not even in the running for it. Moreover, with his mother gone, he has no one to plot and scheme with. Nor he has anyone to dig him out of his current predicament.
Hence, we can’t help but wonder if this is his final run on the soap. At least for the near future! Maybe Dimitri will decide that it would be safer for him to return to Europe. He will wait for the cases against him in Salem die down. Or, he might decide to join his mother wherever it is she is seeking refuge right now. Alternatively, there is a possibility of him getting caught by the police and sent to prison. The spoilers reveal that Rafe will be hiring Wendy Shin to track him down. So getting arrested is definitely one of the prime options.
In the end of the day, we can just hope that if the makers really do plan on pushing Dimitri off the Days of Our Lives canvas, then it is only temporary. Any of the above options will leave the doors wide open for him to make a comeback at a later point. As for our personal choice, we would love to see him bounce back energized with Megan!
