A BIG Surprise Entry Alongside Dick Van Dyke
Days of Our Lives fandom is currently getting a visual treat every day on their TV screens! The ever so charming Dick Van Dyke just made an exciting debut on the Peacock soap, and it is every bit as wonderful as we hoped. The 97-year-old legend oozes charisma in every frame that he is a part of. However, he hasn’t arrived on DOOL all by his lonesome! Just as Dick’s character had a police officer escorting him to the Hospital. The iconic star also had a companion accompanying him to the sets. And this companion comes from much closer to home than you can imagine!
In the recent Days of Our Lives episode, Jada, along with another police officer, brought Dick Van Dyke’s character
to the hospital. Moreover, when Kayla wanted to wheel the patient inside, he cheekily asked if “Officer Silver” could keep him company. All through the scene, Dick’s character light-heartedly flirted with said officer. Interestingly, the lady officer appeared rather comfortable with his incessant flirting. It appeared as though the two of them had some chemistry! And as it turns out, there is a good reason behind it!
The actor who portrayed the lady officer on Days of Our Lives actually happens to be Dick Van Dyke’s real-life wife! A makeup artist by profession, Arlene Silver, has a 46-year age difference with her husband. Dick Van Dyke and Arlene have been together for over a decade and a half. The two met in 2006 for the first time and then proceeded to tie the knot in February 2012. The couple truly justifies that age is just a number. Moreover, love doesn’t really care about age! Interestingly, Dick actually loves taking the age difference in his stride and often makes jokes about it. He even addressed Arlene as his “child bride” on Oprah’s show.
“She’s made me the happiest man in the world. Our life is so good together,” the legend had once told the media. Honestly, it was quite entertaining to watch him flirt with his wife on screen!
