Aketra Sevillian’s Days Are Up, On Her Way Out
Earlier this year, in March, 2023, when Aketra Sevillian entered Days of Our Lives as Talia, we knew she would shake Salem up! And that’s exactly what police officer Jada’s little sister did. From drugging Chanel’s biscuits at Sweet Bits to frying Chanel’s heart to crisp. Talia really did create quite a ruckus in town. All of it on Collin’s behest. However, once she tore away from Sloan’s troublesome brother, Talia committed herself to turning her life around. She did everything she could to make amends to Chanel.
Eventually, Chanel did forgive Talia, and even considered a second chance at romance with her on Days of Our Lives. However, her ex-husband, Johnny, soon stepped back into her orbit and confessed his love for her. Owing to her own feelings, Chanel admitted that she was still in love with Johnny too. Thus, choosing her former husband on her former female flame. Some would say Talia truly had the heart break coming after what she did to Chanel. While others just hoped for a thrilling love triangle between the three.
Alas! it seems that won’t be happening, since Chanel has made her mind! Soon after, news about Aketra Sevillian’s impending exit from Days of Our Lives started to do rounds. Later, a comments from actress Arianne Zucker on Aketra’s Instagram post confirmed the news of the latter’s departure. “Why you are still not on our show is beyond me,” Nicole’s portrayer wrote. Furthermore, she wished her co-star all the best for her future endeavors. “You are a beautiful light! To bigger and better!” Arianne concluded.
Now, this exit happening right after Chanel rejecting Talia’s love made total sense. However, what confuses us is that in the recent DOOL episode, Talia kick-started an all new storyline for herself! After colliding with Shawn Brady at the pub, the two hit it off over a few drinks. Talia and Shawn then hooked up in a quite a steamy scene on Days of Our Lives. Now, if Aketra is exiting the Peacock soap, what will happen to the saucy hook-up Shawn and Talia just teased us with? We have to admit, the two certainly had chemistry and lit up the screen!
Moreover, with Martha Madison already on her way out, a Talia-Shawn angle could have opened the door to more storylines in the future. But then, we never know! If the tease floats well the fans, the makers might reconsider bringing Aketra back at some point.
