All bad things must come to an end. And, boy, was Dr. Montague, played by actor Darin Toonder,

one of the meanest baddies we’ve seen on General Hospital in a while.

The actor shares his thoughts on the bad doctor’s reign of terror ending.

After months of torturing poor Sasha (Sofia Mattsson), Dr. Montague got busted thanks to Cody Bell (Josh Kelly), who stopped Sasha’s physician from injecting her with something we can only imagine was quite harmful!

“With the Dr. Montague storyline coming to an end, I wanted to take the time to make a video to say, ‘Thank you’ to all you General Hospital fans,” Toonder began in an Instagram reel. “Guys, it has been so much fun playing such an evil character and either being loved by you, loved to be hated by you — or just hated by you!

“I had a great time making my posts. I had even more fun reading your comments and replying to them,” the actor adds. “The good ones and the bad ones. I believe my favorite ‘bad’ one was, ‘Watching you makes me want to vomit!’ That…that was a good one. I’m not going to lie. That one made me laugh out loud. So thank you for that.”

Toonder began his run on GH in mid-June of this year and wrapped up his Port Charles stay in early October, so the actor had about three and a half months of daytime villainy. During his reign of terror, Dr. Montague tricked Sasha into taking some pills that altered her mood and behavior, which resulted in her being held in Ferncliff against her will — all so that he and Gladys (Bonnie Burroughs) could make off with her money.

Darin Toonder: Thanks for the Villainy

A good baddie like Dr. Montague is hard to keep down. However, there’s no telling if and/or when Dr. Montague will return to GH. In the meantime, Toonder is walking away with nothing but gratitude. “Guys, it’s been a ton of fun. Thank you, thank you, thank you,” he says. “I appreciate you.”
