Eric Failing – Urgency Surfaces as Hints Drop?

Bold and the Beautiful suddenly focuses on Eric Forrester who beats himself up lately over his inability to hold a pencil on the CBS soap. While he explained this to his grandson as arthritis attacking his hands, it looks like there’s more going on with the Forrester patriarch today.

Bold and the Beautiful Spoilers: Eric Forrester in Urgent Mode to Create Fashion Line

Eric Forrester (John McCook) wants to design. He calls this his legacy and he recruited his grandson’s hands to do this on B&B. Eric keeps a tight lid on his collaboration with RJ Forrester (Joshua Hoffman). He also swore RJ into secrecy regarding his failing hands.

Bold and the Beautiful Spoilers: Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) - Eric Forrester (John McCook)
B&B | CBS

The man who put Forrester Creations on the map is angry at his son Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye). He brushed off his father in a recent Bold and the Beautiful episode. Ridge didn’t take it seriously when his father asked him to collaborate on a new line, which would be Eric’s legacy for the company.

Now Eric doesn’t want his son Ridge to know that he can no longer sketch because of the stiffness and pain in his hands. RJ thinks his grandfather should tell Ridge. But Eric is so livid over his son dismissing him that he won’t let that happen. RJ is to tell no one.

B&B Spoilers: Unlike His Days of Pickle Ball

Eric Forrester suffered in silence with a case of ED a while back. The actor John McCook received praise for the way he handled this storyline.

He did it so well that he had to remind fans that Eric Forrester has ED, not McCook. Doctors didn’t get him over this hurdle, but Donna Logan (Jennifer Gareis) did.

One hug from her and he felt movement. Then he was standing tall once again as he walked into the bungalow bedroom at the club. This is where his afternoon pickleball affair helped end his marriage to Quinn Fuller (Rena Sofer).

Bold and the Beautiful: Where Are They Going with the Forrester Patriarch?

It looks like Bold and Beautiful dropped a few hints that Eric has more than arthritis going on. And apparently not something as treatable as ED. In the last two episodes, not only does Eric seem to get frustrated with himself, but he forgets words.

On Thursday’s episodes, he couldn’t remember his great-grandson’s name. He found himself searching for a word earlier this week as well. He wanted the ball he exercises his hand with, but he couldn’t recall the word “ball”. RJ filled in the missing word for his grandfather. While everyone forgets a word now and then, B&B made sure it’s now becoming frequent with Eric Forrester.

Bold and the Beautiful: Eric Forrester (John McCook - RJ Forrester (Joshua Forrester)
B&B | CBS

Bold and the Beautiful fans suggest all kinds of illnesses that may be plaguing Eric. His forgetfulness has viewers guessing possible dementia or Alzheimer’s disease. But whatever the soap scripts for this actor, fans expect he’ll do a bang-up job with a realistic portrayal of it.

B&B Spoilers: Retirement on the Horizon for Eric and John McCook?

John McCook is bound to retire sometime, he’s been a popular fixture on The Bold and the Beautiful since 1987. McCook has been with Bold and the Beautiful since it debuted that year.

He is one of only two actors who have been with the soap since day one. The other is Katherine Kelly Lang, 62, who plays Brooke Logan.

McCook is 79, so it looks like he may be ready for the show to send him into retirement with a bang-up storyline. He’ll likely shine with his legacy line, which probably leaves Ridge eating crow.

Ridge will likely end up a bit saddened if he finds out his dad knew he was sick and didn’t tell him. Then Ridge can feel the guilt from pushing him aside when he wanted this fashion line to be his big send-off from the company. But whatever the CBS soap has in store for Eric Forrester, fans are sure he’ll do any infliction justice.
