A SORASed Tate Gets a Harsh Dose of Reality Upon Returning to Salem While Theresa Zeroes In on Alex

A SORASed Tate Gets a Harsh Dose of Reality Upon Returning to Salem While Theresa Zeroes In on Alex

Teenaged Tate gives his parents attitude at the airport.

Brady and Theresa (now played by Emily O’Brien) deplane at the airport. A delayed Tate joins them after chatting with the flight attendant. Assuming he got her number, Brady reminds his son he’s a teenager. An annoyed Tate assures his father she shot him down. Brady wants him to worry less about hitting on older women and more on his future. Specifically about getting a job to repay the $50,000 in damage he caused at school by pulling the fire alarm, which set off the sprinklers.

At the Pub, Bonnie shows Kayla an article about the warrant for Vivian’s arrest. She also fills her in on Victor’s will and that Alex is his son. Bonnie worries all the money and power will go to Alex’s head. He was a hot commodity before, but now, every available woman will want to get their hooks in him. Bonnie takes note as Brady, Tate, and Theresa enter.

Justin visits Maggie at the mansion to ask if he and Bonnie can return. Of course, they can. She’ll be happy for the company, considering she’s no longer CEO. Justin is stunned by his son’s actions, but is even more appalled over what Victor has done to all of them.

Justin gravely faces Maggie.

Stephanie blows into the Titan office to tell Vivian she quits. Turning around in the CEO chair, Alex explains everything to a stunned Stephanie. He muses that Victor gave him controlling interest in Titan to make up for the lost years. However, nothing can make up for Victor lying to him his whole life.

Kate drops by Chad’s apartment to return his congratulatory flowers because Victoria isn’t her grandchild. After she disparages Sarah while recounting the story, Chad suggests Kate stay out of it, or else she’ll make things worse. Speaking from experience, he tells her how Steve and Kayla brought up marriage for him and Stephanie. He doesn’t know how to feel about it because they haven’t been together that long. He’s not even sure what Stephanie wants. Kate asks what he wants.

Chad opens the door to Kate, who holds a vase full of pink and white roses.

At Titan, Stephanie points out the job, money, and power are all things Alex has wanted. Alex agrees, but he didn’t want them like this. He’s not sure if he’ll move back into the mansion, though because he’s not ready to live under the same roof as his father cousin Justin. Alex will understand if she still wants to quit. She calls them friends now, so she’s staying. As his friend, she assures him he doesn’t have to act tough with her. He’s not feeling all that tough right now.

At the mansion, Justin tells Maggie if Bonnie didn’t hate the Salem Inn so much, he’s not sure he’d move back. Maggie knows it brings up complicated emotions, but Victor loved him. He’d want him there. And Alex is still his son. Nothing will change that. Justin wishes he were as confident. Bringing up Mickey and Mike, Maggie says they were father and son in every way that counted — just like Justin and Alex. She urges him to move back because it’s important that they rally together as a family.

Tate embraces Kayla as Brady tensely observes.

At the Pub, Kayla embraces Tate, then gapes upon hearing the circumstances surrounding his return. Brady asks if Roman’s around so they can ask about a job for Tate. Tate wonders what he’ll even do there. Since you have to be 18 to wait tables, he’ll probably bus tables or wash dishes. “Wash dishes?” Tate exclaims. Kayla says Roman’s out, but tries to help by saying at least Tate won’t have to scale fish like she did. Theresa wonders if it’s even necessary, considering with his wage, he’ll have to work until he’s 90 to pay off his debt. So be it, Brady responds.

Before Bonnie leaves, Brady asks what was in Victor’s briefcase. Bonnie stammers as she fills them in about Alex. Theresa takes it all in as Brady reels. After Bonnie leaves, Kayla explains about Anjelica’s letter. Theresa plays dumb while flashing back to finding letters in Victor’s briefcase. Assuming Tate is staying with Brady while she figures out her living situation, Theresa dashes out. Confused, Tate asks if his mother is staying in Salem. Brady doesn’t know. Tate wonders where else she’d want to be, considering he’s there now.

At Chad’s place, he tells Kate he hadn’t thought about marriage until he overheard Kayla and Stephanie discussing it. Kate knows it was a huge step for him to live with Stephanie. Chad notes Abby’s only been gone for 16 months. He thought he would spend the rest of his life with her. Kate urges him to take all the time he needs. Kate leaves when Stephanie comes home.

After telling Chad about Alex, Stephanie assures him she doesn’t want to get married right now. He’s happy to hear it because he likes the way things are. She declares she does too, but her expression becomes pensive as they hug.

As they eat at the Pub, Brady tells Tate that, despite the circumstances, he’s glad he’s there. And Rachel can’t wait to see her big brother. When Tate learns Brady doesn’t see much of her, he assumes he’s Brady’s way in. Brady assures him that’s not the case. Tate says he’s cool with it and leaves to take a walk around the neighborhood.

After Bonnie lugs her luggage into the mansion, Justin tells her Alex ousted Maggie as CEO. He hopes Alex gets over himself before anyone else gets hurt.

At his desk, Alex answers a call from a reporter. He confirms he is Victor’s son, but says “no comment,” when asked how he feels about it. Later, Theresa comes to see him and lets him know she heard he’s Victor’s son. She obviously didn’t know that bombshell was in the briefcase when Shane gave it to her though. She flirtatiously invites him to dinner.

Theresa coyly stands before Alex at Titan.

Next on Days of Our Lives, Alex and Theresa go on a date, while Tate reconnects with Holly.
