Kenny, 60, and Armando, 34, met in an online group for single gay fathers where they began a friendship. Their friendship turned into something serious when they met in person and Kenny decided to move to Mexico for good. Kenny had four grown children in St. Petersburg. He left his family behind to get married to Armando. Kenny and Armando’s wholesome love story was the highlight of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way in 2020. They faced challenges along the way due to their sexual orientation but got married in May 2021.
Kenny and Armando currently star in The Other Way season 5 with Armando’s biological daughter Hannah and their two dogs, Mika and Toffee, as they are exploring surrogacy.
However, on November 19, they revealed that their pet Toffee had unfortunately passed away on November 17, 2023. They wrote that Toffee had an “incident a couple of days ago” and was rushed to the vet hospital, where her heart stopped. Little Toffee couldn’t be revived. “This unexpected, sudden loss has hit us hard,” the couple added. Toffee had been with Armando and Kenny for barely a year and nine months, but she quickly became a part of their family.
“She helped mend my broken heart after Truffles passed and we are beyond heartbroken,” Kenny added. Their Frenchie Mika had also developed a close bond with Toffee. She feels “lost right now” without her sister. “We tried to give Toffee a great, happy and adventurous life and she lived it to the fullest,” the pair told their followers. Kenny and Armando shared several photos and videos to show fans how amazing she was and how she’d become a big part of their family. Toffee gave Kenny, Armando, and their child Hannah unconditional love. Dog lover Kenny had a trusty companion with him when he first moved to Mexico.
Kenny’s interactions with his dog Truffles were seen on screen. Truffles has been with Kenny for over 18 years. He was devastated when Truffles died in January 2023. Kenny and Truffles spent almost every day together for almost 20 years. Truffles had brought him immense joy. He traveled all across the U.S. with Kenny and had even been on international trips. Hannah developed an instant bond with Truffles when he moved in with her and Armando.
